    Bandsaw stand

I have brought the Axminster Hobby bandsaw and have made a stand for it out of 2x3. The instructions say to secure the bandsaw with bolts, washers and shake proof nuts. As the fixing points are on the corners, with the stand I have made I doesn't have access to use bolts and nuts. Do you think...

    Painting stairs under runner

My stairs in a Victorian cottage had a paint effect from god knows when and the centre section was left bare where the runner was.

Thanks, it's a suspended floor so it can go under. I just wondered if the basin waste had to attach to the wc waste before or after the wc

    New toilet under stairs

It was my original post so thought I could just continue with asking a question rather than starting a new thread.

    New toilet under stairs

I have the planning permission for my cloakroom and the builder has been and fitted the waste pipe, inspection chamber and connected to the manhole in the drive. I am trying to work out how the basin waste will link up to the wc waste. Can the basin waste run down the wall, in a pipe of course...

Cuprinol Ducksback suitable for T&G garden workshop?

I used the Cuprinol garden shades on my self build shed that was clad with T&G, worked a treat. I have built a hit and miss fence for my daughter and used the Ducksback as the timber was rough sawn. Where any of the wood was smooth the Ducksback didn't seem to take but it did after 2 coats.

    Bench drill

I have looked back on the messages from the shop and it has been PAT tested, so ok for me to use? I thought they did some sort of test as all our recycling was going to a scavenging facility but people were taking stuff to sell on or to strip the cables to sell on! The local government have...

    Bench drill

I will see if a neighbour has a multimeter. If not, this one from Amazon would do the job? https://www.amazon.co.uk/ULTRICS®-Digital-Multimeter-Voltmeter-Ammeter/dp/B00TM0W8ZY/ref=cm_cd_al_qh_dp_t Thanks

    Bench drill

Yes they tested it and it worked. I have also plugged it in at home and it works, it didn't have a drill bit in but it was really quiet, I was quite surprised.

    Bench drill

Thanks all, I will get the wire brush out on it! To check that it is earthed, do I need to check in the motor? in the meantime, I will see what I can find in google. Here is a picture of the bargain!

    Bench drill

Hi I picked up this Nutool bench drill from a local charity shop for £2. It has surface rust and is rather mucky. The shop tested it and it works. Any hints on anything I should be aware of?

    DIY hit and miss fence

That's the ones I tried, I did one panel with them but they didn't feel really secure, expensive too £11 for a box of 250 nails!!!

    DIY hit and miss fence

Thanks. It has been painted in the Cuprinol Ducksback, that was the worst bit of the job!!! I have just added up the costs and £125 for the fence and posts, not bad for 16metres of fence.

    DIY hit and miss fence

The fence panels have been built, in the end I went with screws to fix it together, the nails weren't really gripping the wood. To say that all the pieces are different sizes, with it all painted the fence looks pretty good
