Hi All Semi detached Victorian Just had a new roof and I need to insulate it now. We have 2 rooms up on our 2nd floor. Just had 2 new dorma formed on the back of the roof, had a terrible single plastic dorma removed. As you can see in the pics we had cold eaves before. I plan to insulate the...

Pyronix Euro 46 APP vs Enforcer 32-WE

I'm an alarm newbie & going for the enforcer32 ctrl+ and currently getting all the kit together. I'd prefer the hard wired one but am to lazy so kinda doing a hybrid, this maybe a mistake but will update as and when I've finished.

    Enforcer Control panel ENF32APP-WE

Thanks all very helpful. @Handymanjo @musszzy I've tryed to reach out and ask this question directly with pyronix about the bell but they won't speak to Jo public. I'm thinking about getting the Deltabell X to run with the ENF32APP-WE , I'd love to get the backlight working also. On another...

    Enforcer Control panel ENF32APP-WE

Hi All, Hoping someone can help. I'm planning on buying one of these with the control+ app options. However, I don't want to get the wirelesss bell box. I'd prefer a hardwired a deltabell Plus with the backlight on. I don't want to be messing around swopping batterys hanging off ladders...

Replacing Roof, So many questions, 1st off, sarking boards.?

Alistair, thanks for the heads up. We do have a loft space above the attic rooms, haven't inspected that closely but will do ref these boards and the structure side of things up there. Just to go back a step. In your opinion, is it just a personal preference about retaining these boards...

Replacing Roof, So many questions, 1st off, sarking boards.?

Sorry all, doe's anyone else have a view on sarking boards? Are they just one of those things and preference to the roofer to keep or remove? The first roofer mentioned skip costs to remove & the time, the second said 'get'em gone'.

Replacing Roof, So many questions, 1st off, sarking boards.?

Think I'll avoid and keep ventilated. Had another roofer come and view the weekend. He's saying remove the boards. If we leave the boards on the roof will raise, maybe a problem so best to remove them. He'd use a breathable felt then baten then tile etc. He also suggested he could...

Replacing Roof, So many questions, 1st off, sarking boards.?

Ok so I need to insulate and I need to meet regs. Any comments on this kingspan solution that fully fills the rafters. Could I go unventilated?

Replacing Roof, So many questions, 1st off, sarking boards.?

Ok so I have 4 x 2's for rafters. Looking into the insulation tonight online, the insulation inbetween rafters and under systems to produce .16 u value. I'm looking at 750mm for each roughly to get that kind of U value, + the 50mm gap. So roughly need to add another 4 x 2 on the rafters...

Replacing Roof, So many questions, 1st off, sarking boards.?

Thanks Alistair, not the answers I was looking for but thanks nevertheless :D . It's never easy is it :P Yes noseall, doe's seem to be a little more complex than banging up some insulation. The strapping sounds like it'll add weight to the roof, maybe a reason to remove the boards...

Replacing Roof, So many questions, 1st off, sarking boards.?

Hi Alistair, Thanks for the reply. Ok, that kinda leads me to my next question if the boards stay and aren't a problem. The picture is from one of the hidden eaves in the roof 'the back', I have 2 rooms up in the roof I want to insulate and use. At the moment the rooms walls are...

HELP - Make Good? Rewire? You decide!

I did look at the doors & which way they open, it's a mixed bag but they seem to work for each room from what I can see so haven't changed any. Update. Spark has been here 3 days working 12hr shifts, he hasn't stopped. Already done most of lighting, adding 2way switchs etc. Both top floor...

    Preserve Coving with overboarding

Hi All, Just moved into a 1920's house which is in need of a little tlc. I have quite 4 good size rooms where the ceilings lath/plaster have been lined with paper and you can see line cracks in them under the paper. None seem to be bowing or have totally blown yet. My problem is each...

HELP - Make Good? Rewire? You decide!

Decision made, we're rewiring! :D I found some dead points upstairs & don't really trust whats in place now. Also the price gap between making good and rewiring isn't that much of a gap so it's a no brainer. The place has no carpets and most of the walls will need skimming so makes...

HELP - Make Good? Rewire? You decide!

The house is a semi detached victorian, it was originally a 3 bed but the attic has been converted also so it is 5 small bed in all. It is quite a big house, not what I would call massive though, small footprint. Doubley confused now, another spark came this evening suggesting using the...
