Chipboard flooring want to remove nails

Put the screw in next to the nail, but further towards the edge of the joist, rather than further along the joist. That way you shouldn't hit any notches.

Chipboard flooring want to remove nails

I wouldn't attempt to pull out ring nails, full stop. Can't you put the screws through next to them?

Chipboard flooring want to remove nails

I would not attempt to try to remove several hundred ring shank nails.

And shrinkage. I made a garden table top from new scaffold boards, and after a year gaps of 3/8" had opened up between them.

Vapour barrier over polystyrene in shower cubicle?

Polystyrene won't insulate sound. Burns well though. If you need acoustic insulation for some reason, use rockwool.

I clean out under my Honda's deck after every time I use it. Three years and no rust so far. I would definitely go for the Honda

    Architrave beartrap

Why not split the difference? Might look less obvious. Of course unless you use the same width for the sides, you will need other than a 45 degree cut at the corners

    Architrave beartrap

If it's just the top of the arch that you want level, you could get a piece of the matching skirting, and rip it down to have a 20mm wider flat. I think I might have gone for the higher doorway.
