Well it went on today!... i had to wait for a circular saw for xmas lol... shaved an inch off each side and half an inch off the bottom.... hung it (it has three hinges so that was fun) with the wifes aid we got it fairly lined up but it proved to be about 2mm thicker than the old door, so i had...

backboiler gon, daft question about stoves.

yes sqirel/Morso is a well known make of solid fuel stoves. I just got it and am derusting it. Pipes comming out of it seem to be 28mm same as the old gas back boiler. I think im going to just use it as a standalone fire, easyest solution..cheers.

Ok so i hacksawed out the old lethal backboiler, lagged the inside of the cavity with concrete mix... and i might be aquireing a squirrel stove.... possibly with a backboiler. Now you can tell what i'm thinking. All the rads etc are there, pump is there. piping is there..... what does someone...

backboiler, dead... how do i get rid of it?

ITS OUT!... what could be better for the day after Boxing day than to take out a back boiler thro a hole about a third too small to get it out properly. Anyway hose pipe on drain, water out to back garden. Took one fitting off with spanner, others wouldn't budge so i hacksawed em off and pulled...

    Margaret Thatcher

I hate Thatcher with a passion..... but i've always thought the sinking of the Belgrano a valid action of war... and i don't belive a recent book (written by the French Priminesters shrink) that Maggie threateend to nuke the Argentine capitol city if they didnt release the "codes " for jambing...

backboiler, dead... how do i get rid of it?

just what i needed to know...ta very much Paul... one question tho. I presume the chimneys either lined with flexie pipe and it will be too short for the new fire, as the back boilers set further back. Does that mean it has to be lined again with longer pipe?

    Margaret Thatcher

Oh i could really start to rant right now.... but i wont. serfice it to say... They actually tried out and based many of their policies on the chilean Government model..(not just an opinion, they actually flew there often to "observe" and surgest things to try)... so they based some of the...

backboiler, dead... how do i get rid of it?

Thanks Paul... What we do as per fire depends on what i find behind it. The who set up is red tagged, so its a nono to use it apparently. Also its actually installed standing on the carpet, which all the engineers have said isn't a good thing.... we were thinking of just the cheapest gass...

backboiler, dead... how do i get rid of it?

complex question... it got "capped off" by British Gass few months ago. (this is the forth "engineer" to look at the red tag and pronounce expired... But it must be said only the first one actuly looked inside it, but its dead never the less) Surfice it to say its not ever going to work again...
