How to heat an airing cupboard?

What about a small section of electric UFCH. Stick a few cheep floor tiles down and the warm air will rise and you wont need anything on the walls etc that might get in the way or damaged.

    RCBO or RCD.

Rather than purchase a split load consumer unit I like the idea of having a larger single load unit but using RCBO's. Apart from the obvious cost implications :( is this a good idea. The building is quite large and divides nicely into 4 (if you get my gist), so I thought I would break the...

    Tranformer 240v to 12v ?

Whats wrong with the garage? You could divert the warm air outlet from your tumble drier, put it on a timer to both dry your clothes and warm the car!

    Log burning stove

It could be that the room is becoming starved of oxygen causing the flue gases to be drawn back down into the room. Do you have the correct type/size and location of air vent? I think that wood burners require larger vents then gas or oil.

    In-line extractor fans

I am looking for an extractor fan for a bathroom with no outside wall. Plus I would like it to be as flat and unobtrusive/quiet etc as possible but with a good draw. Has anyone had experience of inline extractor fans connected to solid ducting, and is it possible to use in reach of the shower...

    Central heating pipe sizes

Sounds about right to me. We have recently bought a gas range and that required 22mm up to 1m from the inlet on the cooker.

    Horizontal wiring

Interesting that in the DIYnot - How To section it says the following.... "Routing the cable behind plaster The cable can be run horizontally or vertically but never diagonally - and cannot be routed through thermal plasterboard. When running cable behind plaster it should be run in oval...

Part P - be very afraid

Surely on the larger jobs you can still do all the chasing, running on wires etc (the crappy stuff) and get your friendly neighborhood sparky to do the connecting/testing side of things. Both are happy :)
