    External Weather Proof Sockets

Sockets working great thanks, just got the final coat of gloss on the cabinet and to cover the top and sides with the leftover grit paper from the shed roof and it's done. I'll be getting the shovel out myself later this year, but not out the way I think I need to go up. Due to a high...

    Shower wall tile grout cracking/leaking

It may be rarely used over here but I know most American houses built are fitted this way. The only problem you may have is getting it into the bathroom, they come in some sizes.

    External Weather Proof Sockets

Thanks for that link Breezer, very useful info, I do intend to get a filter soon only this project has got alot more expensive than originally anticipated. I never even intended to have fish until I found mosquito larvae having a party in it so I got some fish to scoff them up. I have been...

    External Weather Proof Sockets

You know I never even thought of a timer, I've got a couple somewhere I bought for when we go on holiday. I assume it would be safe enough outside seen as they are enclosed in the cabinet, out of the weather. Seen as you seem rather clued up on this topic, perhaps you can clarify something...

    External Weather Proof Sockets

Hey Scoby Its only a 500 ltr p/h fountain so not that big. I have nearly finished the cabinet but now realise I have to go outside to turn off the lights, not ideal but I will have to live with it.

    External Weather Proof Sockets

Hi Breezer The box is identical to the one you shown except it has on/off switches. Once opening it up I saw a -25 degree Celcius stamp on it so that's fine and you say the transformers ok too, great. Thanks alot

    External Weather Proof Sockets

Hi, I'm putting a weather proof double socket on the back of the house to be used for a fountain pump and pond lights. I was thinking of making a cabinet from plywood to put it in to protect the socket from the weather and help prevent it freezing over winter. I can also use the cabinet to...

    Urine in floorboards

A bit extreem Gees. I had the same prob 2 yrs ago, a repossesion where the previous owners left 2 dogs and 3 cats locked in the house and done a runner. Forgeting the damage they caused trying to get out the smell was unbeieveable. Mopping the floorboard with bleach and water and give the...

    Clay Soil

Thanks for the advice scoby, but Ive got enough problems with cats crapping in the garden without willingly adding more! Ive nearly finished a pond as well, with just the edging left to do. Ever since I dug that cursed hole out the back, it's rained every day since.

    Indesit Dishwasher leaking

Thanks Breezer, it seems the identical problem to what I have. I have already checked what you've suggested and filter is cleaned weekly. I assume it must be the valve you mentioned. Your link in that convo was helpful too as I now know what to look for, I added it to my favourites in case...

    Indesit Dishwasher leaking

Our 18 month old dishwasher has just leaked alot of water from the underside (front) of the appliance and now does not pump any water in. I suspect there is a pipe blockage on the inside of the machine and wondered if anyone knew how you go about clearing the internal pipe(s).

    Guttering Design

I agrees with breezers post...My friend recently bought a house and discovered that her back garden (and a large one at that!) has a wall that is built 6" inside her boundry. She is now taking steps to regain her 6" back which we all think is rather ridiculous but some people are just like...

    Kitchen mixer tap with 'shower'

The middle base oulet will be for the flexible pull out hose so you can have either hot or cold water coming from it, depending what tap you turn on. That is all I know about these fittings, hope it helped.

Basic help needed with light switch wiring

This could have been solved without even touching the wires. Why did'nt you just leave the wires as they were and turn the switch 180 degree's and replace.

    skirting troubles

You will have a nightmare using expanding foam and I'd guarantee most of it would spill out, down the skirting and onto your new floor. Use pine decorators gault to fill in the gap at the top and so long as you've used no more nails to secure then I'd be unconcerned about the gap at the bottom...
