What CCTV setup do I need?

Not sure what you want the cameras for specifically as you don’t want to report incidents that occur in case house devalues???? As a deterrent?

What CCTV setup do I need?

Probably can get some power to various points from bedrooms at gable end - is this just a case of running a DC cable through a hole in the wall then plugging into a socket inside? Images of house attached - front and back of side entry shared with neighbour and a couple of the front. Main...

What CCTV setup do I need?

Thanks How effective is the solar power if the camera is in the shade? He'd have to see at least one of the cameras due to the area that needs to be covered, although I could probably cut a hole in a panel which is fitted where a gate would normally be. He's been such a pain over the years that...

What CCTV setup do I need?

I have a problem neighbour (silly anti social stuff but annoying - don’t want to report anything in case it devalues my house if I sell) and want to monitor my property along a fence line without infringing their privacy. The area is between the gable ends of our two houses. Each of us has a...

Not yet. Been busy on other stuff (golf mainly!). Need to get it done as the refilling is waking me up!

Water running into toilet bowl-new installation

Sounds plausible. My next step would have been to replace the unit so I suppose I have noting to lose.

Water running into toilet bowl-new installation

The water is a good 15mm below the top of the overflow pipe So what is the solution? I can't see how the bayonet can be tightened. Is it a faulty part?

Water running into toilet bowl-new installation

I've looked at other threads but can't find anything on new toilet installations so hope someone can help me. I have fitted this myself but I'm a fairly capable DIYer. However, I cannot see what might be going wrong beyond the (brand new, supplied with cistern and toilet) parts being faulty...

    Vanity unit pipes

Thanks. The pipework will not go behind the unit as it fits tight to the wall (the photo shows it away from the wall) and I don't fancy building the unit away from the wall. The only way I can see of getting the pipes to tap and waste is either cutting a hole through the bottom of the unit or...

    Vanity unit pipes

Please see image. Replacing old vanity with new one with two drawers:- What is preferred installation for water and waste connections - do I cut out bottom of unit to route pipe work up or do I channel wall behind (breeze block) and run everything up?

    Power shower cuts out

Sorry, should have read Grohtherm 1000. Model number is 19236. One thing I do notice is that when the flow stops, if I drop the showerhead below the valve height, it 'seems' to work okay.

    Power shower cuts out

My power shower pump serves two showers. One works fine but the other keeps cutting out for a few seconds, restarting then cutting out again. I've checked the pipework, hose and showerhead and they seem fine, so only thing I can think of is the mixer. It's an old Grohe Grohtherm 100 concealed...

Extractor ventilation - round to flat channel T joint

I know but I’ve inherited a situation where I have the 2 hoods going to one external vent. I don’t really want to cut another external vent due to position of existing one and lack of available space. If I can’t get 2 into one working I think I’m going to go for buying a new 1200mm extractor...

Extractor ventilation - round to flat channel T joint

Could I get round this by fitting a backwash/backdraught valve between the extractors and the T? Or would this compromise things if/when both fans are running?

Extractor ventilation - round to flat channel T joint

In UK, I am looking for something like this - I have 2 extractor hoods side my side and this would do the job perfectly - I've tried links on the web but they're either in the US or Blauberg UK won't be stocking it. Failing buying one, can anyone suggest a way to make one - not sure how...

    Two showers on power pump

We have a single power pump feeding two showers. when one of the showers is on, the other shower leaks a fair bit (water comes fro shower head). The main consequence is a lack of flow to the Shower being used. The ‘leaking’ shower is a Grohe bar control - not sure what model but about 7 years...
