We have a single power pump feeding two showers.

when one of the showers is on, the other shower leaks a fair bit (water comes fro shower head). The main consequence is a lack of flow to the Shower being used.

The ‘leaking’ shower is a Grohe bar control - not sure what model but about 7 years old.

Can the flow valve (excuse imprecise terminology) in the control be adjusted/tightened up, do I replace the flow valve in the control, replace the entire control bar or is there some sort of control valve that can be inserted in the pipe work?

If it's a bar shower with a 1/4 turn on and off valve at one end then no, the ceramic valve needs replaced, Grohe will be able to provide replacements. if it's a centre exposed valve then the whole valve assembly may need replaced, a pic may help, again though, Grohe will normally have replacements.

Why don't they both leak when off as the pressure will be even higher?.

Oh yes, Pump is off!!.
