    Softener dispensing

Could someone help me answer this question? I have a Hotpoint aquarius washing machine about 3 years old which works fine. During the rinse cycle the softener gets dispensed quite early on. I thought that the softener should be dispensed on the very last rinse just before the final spin. Is this...

    DIY cobbling

Don't you just hate it when you take your wifes shoes in to be re-heeled only to find a spotty 16 year old kid with a pair of pliers and a hammer promptly rip out the old heels and bang in the new ones in 2 minutes flat. Then he says "that'll be seven quid mate" GRRRRR. Seriously though, can...

    Water under floor

I had the same thing in my old house. The water authority man came round and said that my house was on the site of an old culvert. Nothing they could do as it was the natural height of the water table. I tried pumping it out but it was back again the next day. In the end I managed to get a...

    11-11-11 Rememberence Day

To me it means remembering and giving thanks to all those who bravely gave their lives, so that we can live as we wish today. But no doubt there will be others who find it "glorifys" war and should be forgotten, but I give thanks that they are in the minority.

    Secure letter box

My father has been asked to fit a secure back box to the letter box in his local church for insurance reasons. He asked me if I could find a stockist anywhere. I've had a search around but find surprisingly little on these elusive beasts. Does anyone know who stocks them? I'm in the Nottingham...

    space saver spare wheels

You guys are lucky to get a spare of any kind. I bought the wife a Kia Picanto recently and found out after purchasing it that it only comes with a can of self inflating tyre weld. Like someone here said "what good is that if the tyre is badly damaged" Give me a proper spare any day.

Does Limescale really damage washing machines?

I suppose the only way to really find out is if quite a few washing machine repair engineers read this and post there findings. I've repaired a few of my own and freinds washing machines but have never found any failures due to limescale, maybe if I repair a few more I might find some.

Does Limescale really damage washing machines?

Hmm, not entirely convinced that a thin layer of limescale would make that much difference. Still I suppose it's possible.

Does Limescale really damage washing machines?

Well does it? Personally I think its just an advertising ploy to sell a product that is largely unecessary. Being an electrical engineer I cant see how a bit of limescale on a heating element will stop it from working. If you dont belive me just look at the element in your kettle...
