    32mm copper pipe?

The instructions say 32 mm plastic or copper. I was going for copper because of its rigidity over plastic. Saying that I have never used plastic so don't know how rigid it is  I have a run of about 2.5 metres through a duct. I intended to attach ***something*** to the pipe to...

    32mm copper pipe?

Is 32 mm COPPER pipe generally available? I have searched on the internet but most suppliers seem to only have plastic. Its for a Sanivite discharge pipe through a duct. I guess plastic would be too flexible and would sag especially as the discharge is hot water. Thanks H

    Cold Living Room

Over the (cold) weekend I have been doing as suggested with limited success. The locksheild valve in the dining room is now just barely cracked open and the rad is hot enough to keep the room up to temperature with the stat set at 22 or 23 , the difference in temperature of the flow and return...

    Cold Living Room

OK I'll give it a try. I somehow think that the rad in the living room is not up to the job though............having 2 external walls and the front door (which comes straight off the street) makes it a difficult room to heat. Cheers H

    Cold Living Room

I live in a 2 up 2 down end terrace house. The heating is fine apart from the living room where we have to have some form of supplementary heating on cold nights. This rooms side wall is north facing. The walls are solid, that is no cavity, and consequently quite cold. If I set the stat in the...

Glow Worm Ultimate Air pressure switch

The boiler fails to light and after following the fault finding guide (LED 3 not lit) it leads me to the air pressure switch. It is giving off a strange buzzing noise so presumably knackered. Anyway, I took the front off the boiler to check the plastic pipes leading to the switch and half a...

    Dimmer for Standard Lamp

I have a standard lamp that has a foot operated on/off switch. I have seen other lamps that have a dimmer built into the switch (on a halogen uplighter I think). Are they available to buy anywhere? A quick Google didn't come up with anything. The lamp has 3 X 40 watt bulbs btw. Thanks H

How to remove sides and top of radiator

I don't know the manufacturer of the rads but after a bit of fiddling I found the optimum technique.................... Using a pair of mole grips or similar gently squeeze together the rim of the plastic bush until part of it goes inside the end panel. With a bit of a push the whole thing...

How to remove sides and top of radiator

This may be a daft question to ask  . I am preparing to paint a wall with a radiator on it. The radiator is the panel type with fins at the back and the top and sides have a cover that finishes the whole thing off. How do you remove the top and sides? The sides have a round plastic...

    Sanivite Installation

I am considering installing a Sanivite (Saniflo varient) in the cellar to handle the output from a washing machine. One of the hurdles I would have to get over would be the route the 32mm outlet pipe would take. The back wall of the cellar is the inside wall of the kitchen extension which has a...
