    Hi - yeah the company that did the injection came back to have a look but wasn't particularly helpful - his view was that the problem was something 'fundamental' - and re-injecting probably wouldn't help (he did offer to reinject) Never investigated the downpipe - what's the best way to do...

    Hi Detectives We have a mysterious damp issue in our downstairs WC - any tips or pointers would be most welcome. The most relevant fact may be that it gets worse after heavy rain .... The wall has recently been 'injected' and replastered etc. Its a Victorian house (approx 1900)...

    Thanks for the help all re. tools I have a jigsaw, an electric plane and a vibrating sander thing. I'd rather not buy any more tools really for a one-off job could I do a rough cut with the jigsaw, smooth off with the plane and finish with the sander thing ?

    ah there is no concrete oversite - its an olde worlde house so just soil under the floor total span is approx 15' with a sleeper wall at each end and in the middle. The joists are still a bit bouncy though - mid-span between the sleeper walls

    Hello all, We recently had a new double socket fitted. As I sanded some rough plastering of the cable chase I discovered that the cable was hardly recessed into the wall (i.e. a very thin skim had been put on top of it - so after sanding the wall flat, the cable is clearly visible)...
