    Modem com port prob

    It is internal have changed the com port same response. Modem no response to diagnostics. Something is holding the port open wondered if there was a easy to find the cause. I am going to change it to a old external one I have. Should have more luck. Thanks for your help

    Had the same kind of problem. In this case shock from the sink. It was a self tapper used to hold part of the sink in place had gone through some twin and earth. Get it checked out I do not think it is static. A kichen is too humid.

    Power shower tripping earth leakage switch

    Had the same kind of prob. Spray inside of switch with WD40. With power off of course. Worth a try. Only needs a bit of damp to trip it.

    Voltage in circuit when breaker switched off.

    Because your digital volt meter is high impedance it will pick up volts everywhere. If you use a analogue meter which has a lower impedance you find probably find you will have zero volts.

    faulty timer programmer !!!

    If it is a faulty programmer its easy. Turn off the the supply to the heating and programmer. You will find 2 small screws on the bottom of it. Partly unscrew these hinge the unit up and remove. Then replace with new one it just plugs in.

    Mine I just pushed up in to the dry wall box. As there is no where to terminate them. Plastic switches.
