Because the soil vent is lower than the pan, & there is no room for the extra height. I can fit a boss with a 40mm waste pipe, terminating high enough for the water not to flow over, I`m wondering if a 40mm air admittance valve will allow enough air into the soil so the toilet wont gurgle.

My downstairs loo has an air admittance valve which does not reach the height of the water cistern. Its impossible to raise the height where its located. Could I remove & blank the existing vent, then use a 40mm strap on boss with a smaller air admittance valve? Like This...

Just a footnote to this, I bought a DC LED Driver, & DC bulbs. connect the bulbs either way round & they work fine. In the words of old Harry Worth, "I don't know why but there it is".

I "sort of" understand where you guys are coming from regarding rectifiers, apparently there is a small circuit board inside the 12v led bulb, I would assume the electronics would take care of any volt drop & polarity. I didn't want to connect all the bulbs then switch on just to see 8 flashbulbs.

Yes m8, there are "External" drivers & internal only drivers, the latter has a case which allows full cooling,the case is ful of holes, that's the type I am getting. Aparently, the DC bulbs are "Dimmable" but you can only use DC, (I wont be dimming them), the bulb I suspect must have some sort...

I am replacing my MR16 halogens with LED`s. I have a new led driver rated at 102watts, & 8 bulbs rated at 94 watts total. In my experience an AC bulb will fit any way around, but a DC bulb is DC, so, which pin is Pos, & which pin is Neg. Or, does the bulb fit either way?? Thanks

Just a quick update. I replaced the TMV with another, same banging, fitted another TMV in the upstairs bathroom, lo & behold, more pipes bang. For some reason the TMV is creating the fault, the hydraulic shock, Without the mixing valves there is no pipe hammer at all? Very strange.

We used to call it a "Rack", most were held by clothes line, lower it down, load it with damp washing, & hoist it back up.

I fitted a Prestex P404 TRV under my wet-room sink. Water pressure is a steady 3 bar, balanced hot / cold feed. Before, there was no noise, no hammer, now, whenever I turn the tap off, I get pipe bang. Just one bang each time, & it only does it when the tap is on hot (Mono tap with 10mm tails)...

Thanks, its a private house, (Mine) to feed the sink & 1 wash hand basin. Both fed by 15mm copper, both sinks using flexible tails at the tap. Hot & cold on mains, 3 bar.

Can I use 1 thermostatic mixing valve to feed 3 sinks? Or do I have to fit 1 per sink? TiA
