    yeah i totally agree, it's horrid stuff!!! but i reckon it's gotta be done - just going to do the two walls in the loft room that have the crawl space behind... of course i do have an alterative motive - saves skimming the walls :twisted:

    re-read the instructions - it's made with a fire retardant... so i'll assume it's ok for lofts unless anyone has any other ideas :shock:

    Morning. I've found this polystyrene insulation stuff that is about 2mm thick and you apply it to the wall like wall paper (and then wall paper over the top) - I would like to do this too two walls in our attic room but obviously I don't want to contravene building regs in regards to loft...

    ta for the info. is there any reason not to plaster over it? the stuff that's currently on the wall is flaking off and is a right sight + i think it's old style artex (there's something wrong with old artex but i canna remember what it is? lead? asbestos?). cheers

    you can get patching plaster from most diy sheds - just add water and errr.... patch (i suppose) if it's not very smooth when you've finished a quick sand should suffice - as for the expanding foam i keep well away from that stuff unless it's going to be used somewhere that's not very...
