    School geometry set

There is a subtle difference betwen a "metal work scribe" and a "metalworking scriber"

    School geometry set

That's not what I'm after. That's a metalworking scriber. It's not a pair of compasses for drawing circles, which is what I need. If only I could work out how to post a picture without going through the rigmarole of sending it to DIYNot admin and asking them to do it, all would become quite clear.

    School geometry set

Well, no, mainly because I've never heard of such a thing. Where can I find one? Quick search on Google didn't seem to help.

    School geometry set

Pray tell me how these are going to help me scribe two bits of skirting together in a corner, or a piece of laminate to fit around some pipework?

    School geometry set

At least securespark understands what I want. His a**e bears witness to that. There's one going on eBay for a couple of quid, but everytime I increase my bid by 20p, so does someone else, so he can stick it up his a**e (literally). Surely, these things are not valuable?

    School geometry set

No - it doesn't have a straight point. It has a sort of knuckle which hold a little needle point. That's no good at all. It must have straight point.

    School geometry set

I'm looking for one of those old metal school compasses. The ones that have a screw thing on one side to hold a pencil, and a straight metal point on the other. You used to get them in Helix geometry sets in the '60s, along with some similar dividers. I've tried everywhere, but those they make...

    Folding sliding door gear

Hafele website complicated and not user friendly, but found alternative supplier: Coburn, in Surrey. Dead easy to find what you want on their weebsite (suggesting that other aspects of their business might be user-friendly).

    Rubberbond EPDM products

Just found out that Flex-R Rubberbond is also made in USA. Looks like EPDM product is not made in UK.

    Patriotic songs

To get back on topic, I'm talking about patriotic 'songs'. That's tunes that make you proud to be British. Not just twaddle.

    Folding sliding door gear

All the folding sliding door gear I can find has the door hanger on the 'edge' axis of each door panel. Can anyone tell me where (or even if) I can get folding sliding dor gear where the door hanger is on the central vertical axis of each door panel?

    Patriotic songs

I'm after a CD of proud, British, patriotic music. Land of Hope and Glory, Jerusalem, and all that. So I put "patriotic music" into Amazon Music. It came up with 25 or so possibilities. Apart from a Finnish one and a Czechoslovakian one, the rest were American. Why is this? Aren't there any...

    Rubberbond EPDM products

Firestone product is made in US and comes in imperial unit widths. Not sure exacty where Flex-R product is made, but definitely not US, but is made in metric widths. Also, Firestone and Rubberbond use different bonding process (apparently).

    Rubberbond EPDM products

Hello Colin_p. I used to live in Sandhurst, Berkshire. Rubberbond product is made by Flex-R who are also located in High Wycombe. In fact, the MD of Flex-R has agreed to supply me direct on this occasion, due to rubbish workmanship by his "approved contractor". However, I'm trying to get it...

    Rubberbond EPDM products

I'm looking for approved contractors for Flex-R's Rubberbond EPDM roofing products. Flex-R will only give me local contractors and these will only fit whole roofs rather than supply product. Anywhere in the country will do. Thanks.

    Certifying electrical installation

Sparkybird, thatis a good point. The reality is that there are many details to address, and I don't want to get bogged down with minutiae. I don't want to waste time going into details, but there are a number of other problems which I can sort very economically, hence making the deal worth...

    Certifying electrical installation

OK, Periodic Inspection seems to be the route, and £300 seems a reasonable fee to pay, but what I can't understand is, that if an electrician fits a new circuit, he then certifies it as OK, but he might be connecting it to a system which is completely Mickey Mouse. It might test OK, but...

    Certifying electrical installation

I might be in the market for buying a property in which the electrics have been updated at different times over the last 4 years, including some circuits with the new colour coded cable. Whilst everying thing I have checked seems to be installed very well and connected correctly (which is almost...

    Cable rating

I now find that the heater in question has an internal switch to select one of two heat settings. The lower setting has been selected, hence, I suppose, I've got away without the mcb tripping, even with all the lights on. Anyway, problem now solved because I've disconnected the heater (by...
