    Picture of the week!™

What is that green goo ? recently did a job at a hospital and there was this goo running down the wall from a few odd sockets here and there. With ref to the fuse carrier, just thought id mention that the white material should not be removed by the public or contractor for that matter as it...

    Quick RCD plug question...

Good point spark, even a small 10m lead for example can get dangerously hot if a high load is used whilst it is wound up, personally I always unwind fully all my extensions when using them.

    Lighting for barn

Personally I would go for a 70W metal halide fitting, 1 in each bay would be sufficent and then if needed local task lighting in the form of fluorescent lighting.

Terminating tools for SWA cable - what do you use ?

I always leave at least an inch of inner core sheathing on above gland as well just for protecting when coming into the enclosure its going into. No one that I can see has mentioned putting the gland onto the cable as well before splaying the armourings, always a good idea to put the outer...

    earthing

Thanks Spark123 and Space cat, it is exactly what I thought and the other subbie I was working with. The existing earth is the sheath of the M.I. but there is no earth tail so the contractor thought he'd run these 16mm's in and put them onto electrodes rather than do a complete run back to...

    kiddie killers

If the death sentence were to be brought in then that would lead to a bigger problem on top of an already big problem....prison overcrowding. How many people are living in us jails that have been sentenced to death ? the exact same thing would inevitably happen over here. If they are sentenced...

    What was that road sign?

The reason the sign is grey ? I am informed by a certain tfraafic warden is because it is more distinguishable in the grey colour, if it was red then it would look more like lorries are prohibited. I thankyou very much no need to applaud
