    Odd leak in shower

Yes get the installer back, it could be a washer from my very limited experience but you shouldn't have to worry about sorting that.

    Fixing Loose Leading

Had to lift the leading on the side of my house as I'm trying to repair a leak along the flat roof of the adjoining garage. Noticed that the cement at the point where the leading is inserted into the wall has begun to crack and fall out. In some places, I can remove it with my fingers. Its...

Erecting Close Board Fence Advice and Suppliers

My back garden is enclosed by a short brick wall followed by 4ft fence panels to achieve approx. 2-meter high barrier. The fence drops down and goes around a curve (the existing panels aren't fitted well around the curve as its too tight). The short brick wall is being rebuilt and I'm planning...

    Advice Plastering Aerated Blocks

Thanks @Alastairreid I plan to use a straight edge to get the base coat relatively straight. There are places where the plaster has fallen off which makes this difficult in spots. Could I fill these small areas with one coat plaster, or is there a better way to overcome these gaps?

    Advice Plastering Aerated Blocks

Have blocked in a doorway with Aerated Blocks, they seem highly absorbent. My DIY book suggests sealing wall with 1 part PVA / 5 parts water followed by 3 parts PVA / 1 part water. What's the best base coat plaster to use?

    Blocking Off Door Question

Hmm, have encountered another potential issue, now with the lintel. Have chipped back some of the plaster and can see the end of some metal which I assume is the lintel. My understanding is that a lintel should bear 15cm onto brickwork. At present, it seems to bear only around 10cm onto...

    Blocking Off Door Question

I have the blocks brought already, so am committed. The existing wall is blockwork. I did some research a while back which seemed to indicate that blocks would be better to avoid cracking of plaster down the road. I know some disagree.

    Driveway Lights

Depending on where you position them try Mpow LED Solar Lights. I have used them as you describe and they work for me, pretty cheap too.

    Blocking Off Door Question

@^woody^ thanks again for your help. Just checking something, would I be OK to use grab adhesive rather than nails to fix the 4" 2" I have checked with a trowel and there are pipes under the area. Also have some 3" 2" in my garage am assuming the weight of the blocks will prevent warping so am...
