Hey Dave..Is this a new installation or just a new boiler?, & I'll be in lincolnshire next week so if your not sure I can come & have a look, also if it was a boiler swap (1 in 1 out) was the old system gravity fed (small tank in loft) then swapped over to pressurised system?

Ash.... if your having to "trip" the overheat thermostat I'd be inclined to look at the circulation pump.... if the boiler is running for 10 mins then shutting off...& your hitting the "overheat thermostat"...then it's water problems..... If your hitting the red lock out on the burner then...

perhaps some pictures of the boiler...& of the burner then we'll be able to tell you

Where abouts are you I have all the grant manuals...& I will probably be able to help...you say the boiler is 2 years old...does it have the red l.e.d warning lights on the front (DHW pump, CH pump)etc, let me know

May not be the Oil pump, could be Motor, but if it is the Oil Pump, then when you put a new one on get the tank dipped for water..other wise you'll be replacing the oil pump again!!!!!! if it's a B9 burner then it should be a Danfoss Oil pump, there are 4 allen screws (one on each corner) take...

Physically check the Oil Level...NEVER look just at the sight tube...as Oil delivery people LOVE to turn them off ( I thinks it's so they can charge more for an emergency call out)!!!!!, also you didn't say if the Oil line is copper? copper coated in plastic, steel?.... with more info might be...

have you got any of the old Nozzles?..look at the filters on the nozzle..are they discoloured?, has the tank been dipped for water?...yes the tank is currently illegal, but if installed before 2005, then it was current, an 11mm spanner will undo the bottom nut, it looks like a crosland filter...
