    Which Filter (including location guide)

Hi there, I was wondering if you could help please? It has been recommended that I fit a magnetic filter to my central heating system (I have a newish boiler and an old system). The central system is a vented type with a condensing boiler. I was therefore looking for recommendations on...

    247 Car spares SCAM

It is also worth noting that numbers starting 08 also vary based on the third digit. This is a very good, clear guide to telephone numbering and approximate costs: http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/files/2010/01/numbering.pdf

Changing an 8mm rad valve to a trv

Regarding olive removal I usually cut through the side of the olive with a junior hacksaw. Just enough to release the pressure on the olive.

To Fuse or not to Fuse?

Thanks John, it is within the attic so can be accessed fairly easily. In future I won't lose any sleep if I need to connect one directly.

To Fuse or not to Fuse?

This is what I meant thank you. Whether to down fuse the transformer to 3 amp (or 1 amp as now suggested by Bernard) using a FCU connected to the switched live supply or just connect the mains supply cable to the switched live supply with a junction box. You're right, I didn't think of it...

To Fuse or not to Fuse?

Hi, I am wondering if someone can offer some advice please? I have a 12v power supply which I will be using to provide power to a single light fitting (LED). The power supply was not provided with any instructions and has bare wires ready for connection to the power supply. I have...

How to get one pull down menu to work with all web pages?

If you wish to use PHP you also need to make sure your web server (or ISPs web server) has PHP installed and enabled. Most do, but one to watch...

Guys if you could help I would be eternally grateful.....

If the fan used to continue after the light was switched off then it will have been supplied with a live and a switched live. From your diagram are the grey and brown wires running to the fan? Are you able to check the colour of cables at the fan? When testing your combinations have you...

    Chandelier hanging problem.

True, or use oversize dowels and hammer them into the hole. The new screw would also serve to expand the dowel.

    Chandelier hanging problem.

The anchors in the link are for fixing into plasterboard. I am assuming the stress of boring them into the wooden joists has weakened the fixing and this is what caused them to snap/break. I would re-fix directly into the joist. You will need to relocate the fitting so that it doesn't screw...

    windows 8

I am not sure this is correct? I believed the deal struck related to the shipment of DOS with IBM machines. I also thought MS agreed not to take a royalty as long as they could sell DOS to other PC manufacturers (hence the direct sales of MS-DOS)...

    windows 8

Windows 8.1 is due for release soon and Microsoft have brought back the start button. If it were me, based on the timing of the release, I would opt for Windows 8 and then await the upgrade. I have used Win 8 for a couple of months (for testing) and it takes a little getting used to. For...

    Replacing down lighters in bathroom

Thanks for the further info, I am starting to wonder if I should save the price of the metal enclosures and get a set of these. One thing, on the second page of the install guide it seems to infer that the preferred method is to create an air gap between the unit and insulation. Wouldn't...

    Replacing down lighters in bathroom

[/url] These are very nice. I assume "integrated driver" means they take 230v? Only thing is the 5 x £35 to replace my existing units :(
