I couldn’t agree more. I was surprised they cut it. I figure I will add a sister purlin and secure/provide additional support. Thanks.

All- I had a metal chimney installed in my barn. The installers cut my purlin to make way for the insulated chimney. I’m wondering if I should place a sister purlin to ensure the structural integrity is not compromised. Pics attached. Thoughts appreciated. Buck
