vertical hot water cylinder laid down

It just kind of sits on a sheet of (what looks like) old kitchen worktop, I don't recall seeing any kind of securing brackets. Googled photos but nothing seems similar :(

vertical hot water cylinder laid down

Hello everyone, Just asking a quick question about my hot water setup. In the loft there is a hot water cylinder which looks like a standard vertical cylinder, but it's laid down in its side, 99% sure it's not a proper horizontal cylinder. Now ive not noticed a particular problem with...

central heating programmer replacment help please

replacing the controller isn't that big of a job usually, it should only be 7 or 8 wires, and although the backplates are different, connecting the wiring to the new backplate isn't a difficult job. Did mine last week, and took me about 45 minutes

    connecting bath waste to pipe

Having a problem connecting my bath waste upto the drain pipe. I had to take it all out because it was full of grime and wasn't draining away, but now I can't figure out how the 2 pipes connect back together. The pipe from the bath is a white screw-fit which I believe is 1.5" and the...

    removing old cast iron pipe

I did try and give it a tug with some gloves on but it didn't budge, although trying to get to it under the bath was tricky and it's probably attached to the wall and cemented into the wall, I'll try again tomorrow.

    removing old cast iron pipe

Hmm I'd guess about 1.5 - 2 inch diameter, but runs in the opposite direction to the current waste pipe, some photos would probably be useful :) You can just about see the capped off end, I'll try again when I get the bath out tomorrow Yes it's disgusting under there :(

    CU replacement advice needed

Interesting points made, I guess I was assuming the rcd was classed as an isolator. So think I'd be best off with the rcbo option. Also I wonder if there is any regulation on the length of earth wire allowed from CU to my spike? The meter is about 2m from the cu so a 3m tails kit will be...

    CU replacement advice needed

Copied from elsewhere: BS 7671 REG. 537.2.2.1 states " A device for isolation shall isolate ALL live conductors( That means Line and Neutral) from the circuit concerned, subject to the provision of Regulation 537.1.2 which allows Isolation of the LINE only on TNS and TNCS systems I think 3...

    CU replacement advice needed

Thank you all for your replies. My initial thoughts were to ask for an all RCBO layout, however as these are SP they do not comply with the reqirements of a TT system to have the neutral disconnected, this is why i thought a DP RCD first would be needed, followed by MCBs, can anyone confirm...

Please can someone give me some guidance on what to expect when getting a spark in to replace the consumer unit. I live in a small bungalow which has an overhead TT system. Currently have 3 circuits served by a prehistoric CU with fuse wires (Lights, Sockets & cooker) i believe this is...
