I tried WD 40 a few times to no avail. The key often gets completely stuck and immovable. After prolonged effort and removal I then have to get out of the house to try and open /lock from the outside which worked occasionally.

The lock on conservatory door has been playing up regularly and I want to replace it. Can anyone explain how to remove the old one to replace it please. The handle is raised upwards to enable the door to be locked(when it doesnt stick!!!) Jim

I reckon this must be a record. After 15 visits by British Gas and long discussions it is now down to a switch and nowt to do with heating elements. Just about everything else has been replaced !! Jim

Have now had 11 (yes eleven) visits from British Gas and after changing numerous bits and pieces they say the problem of no hot water is because of scaling and needing a new heating element. And of course they say thats not covered by the maintenance agreement !!!Cant understand how I can get...

Thanks. On checking, the water level comes right up to the "level" mark and I cant allow higher level or else the water flows into the integrated overflow pipe. Any other suggestions please ? Jim

I cant get a satisfactory flush with this system and only two thirds of the cistern gets thro before the valve closes. I have fiddled around without improving. Any tips please. Jim

Thanks. I did check that and it is clear as is the small tube from the top of it. The motor also seems to be working ok.. Jim

Does everything but wont spin but just ambles around at the spin stage. Any advice please. Jim

I have a gas cooker hob which I find is "gunged up" on one burner -so much so that the gas is not getting thro to ignite. I am guessing that some foodstuff as boiled over blocking the outlet for the gas. Can anyone recommend a fluid to clean it out or some other method please . Jim

The bulb has gone and the instructions say dont try and repair it yourself. However,I live in a remote location where it would cost a bomb to get a technician to do it. It looks as though you might have to remove the cover(stainless steel) to get at it. Any advice please for a willing DIYer ? Jim

I need to earth a bilge pump in a fibreglass boat. It requires the pump neg to earth and the 12v battery neg to earth. Has anybody got advice on how to do that please Jim

I emptied my fridge freezer as I was going away for a spell. I also switched it off. Now it isnt working although the internal fridge light is on. There is an orange tumble switch near to the internal regulator and that will light up too but as I have lost instructions I am not sure what it is...

My Bosch machine has a faulty on/off switch. Can anyone advise how I get it off/out. I can see and undo three screws behind the soap powder draw but this does not seem enough. I think I could get a spare OK. Jim
