    Removing silk paint from plaster!!!

To be honest I would prefer to strip it back because any imperfections will show up, especially as the sun pours in.

    Removing silk paint from plaster!!!

I renovated my home last year before the birth of my first child but now it's time to finish the last bedroom.... Basically the previous owners of the house had build an extension with a bedroom above the garage. What the idiots must have done is paint silk paint directly onto fresh plaster...

Flooded Messy Garden, levelling advice please

Well it rained and this happened. Can believe how much water is there. Too much water surely for a soak-away

Flooded Messy Garden, levelling advice please

Ok cheers for that Looking at the steps where the drain is under. Do you think I could get a soakaway back to it? From the last picture, where ive dug, that is probably the highest point which gets swamped. If I raised the bottom of the garden slightly( levelled it), say by a foot and...

Flooded Messy Garden, levelling advice please

I'll have a look over the next couple of weeks, when I remove the other decking. Say if I do build a soak away and feed it back into the drain, what would happen if the drain ever blocked? Can you get a drain valve to stop any foul coming back out?

Flooded Messy Garden, levelling advice please

Cheers for the info. What I've one so far is just dug a trench 12inches deep across the bottom of the garden (1m from the fence) to see where the water comes from. Next nice day ill see if I can go a bit deeper but I think it will b heavy clay. If the water is coming from the neighbours...

Flooded Messy Garden, levelling advice please

I've thought about a soak away but when I've dug down its clay from about 12inches so I think it would just sit there (typical for County Durham I'm told). The only other option would be to build a wall at the bottom of the garden remove the fences and re install) and raise it. Then fill the...

    Chipboard Flooring

About 10 months ago I bought some of the moisture resistant T&G chip board flooring (green stuff) Jewsons. However typically I didn't get enough and when I got some more (from my sister who had bought some non moisture resistant boards) the tongue and grooves were back to front. What I'm...

Triton Ivory 2 Electric Shower, hot for 2 secs then cold

As far as I can tell I have a 32mcb on the fuse board. The shower is in the main bathroom which we don't use as we have an en-suite and. I'm only replacing it because we have a few people coming to stay in 3 weeks, so it won't be used regularly. at least not until our little boy gets older...

Triton Ivory 2 Electric Shower, hot for 2 secs then cold

Didn't even look a the cable size. Thanks for bringing that up. Will buy one of those showers at the weekend. Will a 6mm cable be ok for that shower? The length is probably no more the 7/8 metres and that's playing it safe. Thanks again Jacka

Triton Ivory 2 Electric Shower, hot for 2 secs then cold

It's defo not the hose. The dial is always on max (10). Read a few other posts of people saying the same about that model

Triton Ivory 2 Electric Shower, hot for 2 secs then cold

Given the fact the pressure is good and not reducing at all, what else could it be? Regarding the hose, do you mean the shower hose? or something internal?

Triton Ivory 2 Electric Shower, hot for 2 secs then cold

The guide above was for the wrong shower but found the right one after a little search. Checked the filter, but that was clear and to be honest the pressure is really good on it. It's worked quite well since last year but all of a sudden stopped.

Triton Ivory 2 Electric Shower, hot for 2 secs then cold

I tried that earlier and it made no difference at all. I had a look when I had the cover off but there didn't appear to be any kind of filter inside

Triton Ivory 2 Electric Shower, hot for 2 secs then cold

Hi I have a Triton Ivory 2 (10.5 I think) shower which has recently stopped working properly. It basically runs hot for a few seconds then runs cold. Tried cleaning it, turning the dials and nothing. Just had the front off but nothing seems to have blown or corroded. As I acquired it...

    Pre Primed MDF - Primer/Undercoat?

Hi all Just managed to get pre primed skirts fitted through my whole house. I obviously need to undercoat which I will do As I’ve already got a tin of undercoat/primer in the house. Can I use this as the undercoat or am I better just getting a tin of undercoat and using that? Thanks...

    Skirting board/architrave Finish

Exactly right! Probably be better to run it to the bottom and cut the back edge of the skirting off like you suggested. Here's a picture http://img525.imageshack.us/i/imagejqy.jpg/ I'm also looking to use 119mm mdf torus Would you suggest anything else like just running the back mould...
