Will I need to take an edge out of the skirting board too?

I most certainly do. I was ideally looking for a round cap, but they all seem to be slightly too big

Another one. I've decided I'm going to use a 3/4 quarter round on one of the walls where there's no room for a back mould. How do I finish the skirt into that round?

Never thought about those, but don't think they would go well in our house as it's a post war semi

I a couple of rooms in my house the skirting boards run directly into the back mould at 90 degrees. To finish this do I scribe out the skirt on the back mould or do I just butt it up to it? Cheers Jacka

Instead of lead wedges can I use the substitute to make wedges? I'll check the make tonight when I get to the house!

I've seen tapping bits of lead into lead flashing to keep it in place, but can you do that with substitute Is lead mate butyl based?

No damp and they'll be glossed, that's why I thought mdf. Plus they'll be pre primed! Will I still need to undercoat? Regarding the chisel and glass paper I assume you mean just shape the mitre to what I need? Cheers for the help Jacka
