Traditional Thermostatic Shower Valve - possibly sticking

Thanks for the reply. I've taken the logo off and I can see a screw with a Philips head holding on the chrome knob. I've tried to get the screw out with a normal screwdriver and then an impact screwdriver, but it isn't budging. Any tricks for removing the screw? It looks quite a soft metal, so I...

Traditional Thermostatic Shower Valve - possibly sticking

So I have am getting lukewarm water in my shower, yet the water in the pipes right up to the mixer is hot as hell. I'm guessing that there is a valve of something sticking inside. Any tips on how I can unseize the valve? Or does anybody know if or how this can been taken to pieces? All I can...

How would you get around this?

I'm pretty happy with how the bathroom ended up, particularly as it was the first bathroom I've done (and therefore the first freestanding bath that I've fitted).

    Sky dish location

Maybe also have a look at a 'transparent' dish. You will still be able to spot that it is there, but isn't as noticeable as a normal 'grey' dish.

    Replace micro-bore with 15mm?

Thanks all for the replies Can you explain this in more detail? If the flow and return are 15mm / 22mm and microbore is only on the feeds to the radiators, is this how a 'good system' would be set-up? But if the main / return are also microbore that this - ideally - should be upgraded? Have I...

    Replace micro-bore with 15mm?

I've got a 3 up, 3 down Victorian house which I'm going to shortly start updating room by room. It has GCH in the property. The radiators (I'm guessing) and copper microbore pipe system was fitted about 20 years ago. Initally it had a back-burner and a cylinder, but those were replaced with a...

Zanussi ZWD16270 washer / dryer with an E42 error code

Many thanks all for trying to support me. I tried testing for continuity but inadvertently blew something, so the washing machine is well and truly shot now!

How would you get around this?

Received the Tre mercanti P trap today (from a different supplier) and the neck on the trap is longer and therefore has solved that particular problem! The one thing that I have noticed that there is a removable (unscrewable) 'collar' on the Tre mercanti and it looks like the original P trap...

How would you get around this?

I bought one of those traps from WIZARD BATHROOMS on Tuesday and today (Saturday) they still haven't sent it. So thanks to Wizards poor customer service, I'm no closer to knowing if that trap will solve my problem.

Zanussi ZWD16270 washer / dryer with an E42 error code

Thanks for the reply. Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the actuator? There is a white button on the washing machine door which can be pressed in, apart from that, is there another way to test it? There is also a metal catch in the washing machine door, which seems to be working as well.

Zanussi ZWD16270 washer / dryer with an E42 error code

Hi, I've got a Zanussi ZWD16270W1 with an E42 error code - "Problems with aperture of the door". It seems that this is usually due to a faulty door interlock, so bought and fitted a new one, but are still getting the same error message. There doesn't seem to anything wrong with the catch or...

How would you get around this?

Bearing in mind that the plumbing will be exposed, can you get such an adaptor in chrome? I had thought about your other suggestion of grinding out a section of the box, but had that as my absolute last resort!

How would you get around this?

I've contacted Ideal Standard (surprisingly quick at replying) and they have said that they specify a particular waste (E4961AA) but not the trap. Now I've done a search for the E4961AA waste and it looks so similar to the one that came with the bath, that I am pretty certain that I have the...

How would you get around this?

I've been doing a bit my research based on your suggestion about the trap and the fall of the waste and it have found some clicker pop-up (not entirely sure what those are) where the traps look a little deeper / longer (attached). Not sure if generally they are deeper / longer?

How would you get around this?

The bath was bought ex-display with the bit on the top of the photo together the overflow pipe already fitted. There is nothing on the thing to suggest who is the manufacturer of the part or a part number. The P trap and the waste pipe are a generic product. The chrome P traps and the waste...

How would you get around this?

Dan Robinson - please don't take this the wrong way, but if you still need more photos to understand the problem, you probably aren't going to come up with a solution. Perhaps your time is better served in supporting others on this forum? Thanks for the reply - that is one potential solution...

How would you get around this?

It's not the waste pipe that is pushing it up. It seems that the ascetics of the feet are causing some concern so I will upload some new, bigger photos in the morning.

The box is screwed into the bath. That is where the feet fit slide into and held by a securing bolt.

How would you get around this?

The feet shown are the ones that are screwed into the floor, there are lion claw feet which can then be slipped on which then hide the 'bar feet'. I haven't secured the waste pipe yet, due to the problem that I am trying to solve.
