    Kitchen extract fan

Although I don't like these as much, would these 'extract' ok above a hob? http://www.bathroomandkitchenupdate.com/news/fullstory.php/aid/4653/Ventilation_fans_from_Airflow_in_a_range_of_modern_shades.html As they look a bit more stylish than normal white plastic ones.

Good idea about cutting it down actually. Whats actually inside the "chimney" bit? Just a flue? 100mm diameter?

Here is a crappy pic of the unfinished kitchen. Hopefully it will show where I'd like the hood.

    Kitchen extract fan

I would like a new Extract chimney hood in our new kitchen like this: http://www.appliance-world.co.uk/Bosch_**+DWW062460B_60cm+Chimney+Hood.html?osCsid=430669d69502b3f81da9df6a5b0c194c Although due to the kitchen being small, and the Hob near a sloping roof, the ducting/chimney wouldn't...

    New Timer Required

To be honest she wouldn't know what she has unfortunately. All she does know if the water needs to be hot before the heating. So I guess it is gravity fed. In terms of wiring, I guess it's a single live input, with two outputs; One for water, and one for central heating?

    New Timer Required

Oh yeah, thanks for that. Looks simple enough for her. Will that be ok for her needs in terms of she said about needing to heat the hot water before the heating?

    New Timer Required

Holty, your link doesn't work? Spraggo, is she correct saying she needs to heat the hot water before the central heating will work? Should that timer just wire in the same as the current one?

Timed Switches - Lights Staying On

Good thinking! Just checked though in the cupboard, but there isn't anything there unfortunately. Seems weird how this has just happened, as no one will have touched anything, other than pressing the switches. Cheers for the suggestion though :)

Timed Switches - Lights Staying On

We own the flats. But to be honest I work in heavy industry not domestic, so might get someone in. Where do you think the problem could be? In one of the roses somewhere?

Timed Switches - Lights Staying On

Timed Switches - Lights Staying On

Where I live we have 4 push, timed switches for the hallway. One of them is totally separate for one of the flats. The other 3 are all linked together, and turn on 3 lights. The problem is, the lights have started staying on! Except for the one on its own. I've disconnected all the...

    Bathroom Light

Thanks for the reply. A friend asked me about, and I didnt want to bullsh*t him thinking I knew about, so thought I'd ask, as I new I'd get the right advise here :) The current fitting is in zone 2. So obviously would be worth changing to something with at least IP44 Rating.

    Bathroom Light

Oh yeah sorry, I know that part. But how it is now just with flex, does it legally have to be changed? Or is it allowed to stay like that? It will be getting change by the way, I was just curious.

    Bathroom Light

If you had a bathroom with a light which was just a piece of white flex with a lamp on the end, what's the best thing to change this to? As its an existing installation can you get a shade for it, or does it legally have to be changed to suit the zone? Cheers
