    Comparing Kitchen Units

Could someone please advise which supply the best quality carcasses please? I’ve called every store and no one seems to know the finer details, other than saying they are 18mm. Only differences noted: B&Q: Flat pack only. White only. Magnet: Flat pack white - 16mm. Assembled white, oak or...

    UPVC Eurocell Sashes

I’m dubious about approaching window suppliers as I guess they will try to sell me new products. These a only a few years old & barely opened. Some of them have never been opened! They are quite heavy & stiff to lift. Again, not sure if that is the nature of the beast or? The existing...

    UPVC Eurocell Sashes

They are about 1100 x 1200. I’m not sure what glazing is in them (I just know double glazing) the traffic noise is much quieter near the casements? And no air whatsoever. Sashes are well sealed. The ‘air’ seems to be coming up through the side rails (the area where the window needs to slide...

    UPVC Eurocell Sashes

Hi. Thanks for the replies. There’s no trickle vents on any windows or doors (as mvhr system) when I put my ear to the glass it is considerably noisier, can definitely hear the road 10 fold. See what you mean about convection. But of the 3 casements there are, theres absolutely no feel of...

    UPVC Eurocell Sashes

House is <10 years old, so cavity wall, well insulated roof/flooring with ufh, mvhr system Road is very loud & busy (more than I had envisaged) Houses are new but traditional looking, I think the reason the previous owner went for sashes.. Eurocell sash windows; When I put my hands around the...

Wall mounted taps & shower hose?

Thanks, we will have a separate shower. But wanted a shower head for rinsing the kids & bath out. It’s a new pressurised cylinder system so no concerns about pressure. Just been doing some online browsing & see there is an overflow bath tap too?!

Wall mounted taps & shower hose?

Is it possible to have wall mounted bath taps plus a separate shower hose/handset? If so, what products do I need to be looking for? It will be within the stud wall. I plan to get a plumber in to price the whole bathroom but just wondering if this is actually possible at the mo. Thanks

    External cable

^^ I agree I would like to future proof as much as is reasonable/possible. So the ducting was a great suggestion! As clearly it was not as simple as putting a ‘big’ cable as I first imagined! Thank you

Calm down gents. I don’t know any further answers I’m afraid. So on your advice, I have ordered the ducting!

    External cable

Outside socket was put in as part of all the electric work during first fix (new build) last year

    External cable

I don’t think they will be able to be controlled from the house? But could be wrong? There is a double outdoor socket just outside the kitchen door, he said he would ‘spur’ off that. I told him we will need outdoor lighting, shed power & lighting, a socket for lawn mower, but would like to put...

    External cable

I don’t mind paying for larger cable, I’m just unsure now what is best to lay seens as the electricians advice doesn’t necessarily marry up with other opinions. I wasn’t expecting to have to lay ducting

    External cable

Thank you, 100ft garden hence few hundred ££ Have to lay some for front garden/drive too

    External cable

Ok, fair point. I think because it’s not going to be connected up/used for probably a long time it’s hard to spend hundreds on ducting & cable, as well as all the expense of landscaping. But appreciate I need to now to do it now to avoid ruining the garden. Think I’ll have to just lay the duct...

    External cable

Thank you John, that is a good point. He told me to run one for each eg a 3 core swa 2.5mm for lights, then the same again for power. I’d rather use swa, it’s a long garden & that ducting isn’t cheap is it?!

    External cable

Thank you Winston. Electrician has just text to say 3 core 2.5mm!

    External cable

He told me how to lay it in the borders, How deep, where to & from. He just didn’t tell me what core cable. All I remember him saying is make sure it is for both power & lights, not just lights.

    External cable

hi, looking to run some cable down the garden before we turf/landscape next week. Already have an outdoor socket & was told by previous electrician could spur off that in the future. What cable would be required for both power & lights? (eg shed/outdoor lighting) eg what core & mm? I’m only...
