If you want the fan to run when the thermostat says the room is too hot and also when the humidistat says there's moisture in the air then yes all you do is wire them in parallel. This means that when the thermostat says the room is not hot and the humidistat says the room is not humid then...

I've been told by an NICEEIC registered guy that because you are taking an earth from one equipotential zone into another that this connection must be permanent and not plug/socket...that was his answer to my question about what's to stop people plugging their shed in with an extension lead :D...

    Testing & certificates

Having been a tenant many times I've never had an electrical safety certificate, only gas. I don't think you need to get one for the electrical installation or any appliances that you may have in the property.

    Name of 32mm fuse

Looks like an HBC 32mm ceramic type could be 'F' (fast acting) or 'T' (anti surge). Nothing stamped onto the metal end sections?

    Broken energy saving bulb

Indeed, for several years I have always taken a flight over to china to return each low energy bulb that I have had fail to the manufacturer. Somehow I think that these bulbs are having a greater enviromental impact on the planet than the ones I used to just throw in the bin

    Broken energy saving bulb

There was a recent scare on the news about this. Basically the advice went something like, 1) Open a window and evacuate the room for 15 mins. 2)Collect the debris into a plastic bag and seal it, do not vacuum! as this spreads the contamination. 3) Take it either to your local tip (...

    Stupid Question

If there is a poor connection from the main neutral to the neutral bar then yes you will get a PD on the bar and neutrals. I once heard of an apprentice telling a works electrician that he just had a shock off of the neutral bar in a fuseboard, not believing him the electrician tried it for...
