Rcd do not trip at x1

Zs is 1.32, Protected by type B MCB rated at 16A. Wiring all 3 is 2.5 mm and the armoured also is connected to Earth. Insulation resistance >299 on all three. Could not get a trip on 1 RCD with several attemps, but same circuit was fine when swapped over to the other RCD

Rcd do not trip at x1

hi, I am testing a circuit that goes to the garden with armoured cable. The RCD will not trip at x 1 (gets over 400ms) but trips fine on x5. The other circuits seems to be fine with the RCD test (30 mA). Using megger mft 1552. Any reason? When I move that circuit to the other RCD (30...

Downlights cpc - EIC - Bonding

scarypants you are right. The lights came with 2 core connections. Hence the cpc cannot be connected to the light. I was thinking more about the continuation to cpc within the downlights circuits. This has more to do with if the lights were changed one day. Also the book Snag1 - it...

    Smoke detectors Wiring

I am fitting two smoke detectors. One upstairs and one downstairs. Also I am putting a heat detector in the kitchen. These will be on their own circuit without RCD. 1) Should I interconnect all of them? 2) Should I have two dedicated circuits - 1 for upstairs and 1 for...

    Earth fault loop impendence

hi for ze, by earth electrode, I mean disconnecting the Suppley 16 mm cable from the main earthblock and testing between the consumer unit incoming Phase and the disconnected 16 mm earth cable. If I understand correctly the zs should be ze + (R1+R2). The (R1+R2) should be the highest that...

How do you measure the earth fault loop impendence zs for the supply. I take is this is not the same as ze with the earth electrode disconnnected. :?:
