Double decker / Narrow consumer units

There are 9 ways in total. Maybe 2 x smaller boards is the option to take. Existing 100A main switch is in place already (surprisingly) Many thanks.

Double decker / Narrow consumer units

Does anyone no a brand of consumer unit that accomodates installation in narrow areas. Doesn't have to be too narrow, but a standard 17th edition board wouldn't suffice and RCBO's are a little out of my clients budget. I remember RF had posted an image of one a while back (I think it was RF)...

Do I need a new Consumer Unit?

Necessary - No, not if any work you have done can be accomodated with what you have existing. Advisable - No, not if any work you have done can be accomodated with what you have existing. Is replacing a consumer a nice little money maker for electricians if they don't do it...

    Certificate for temporary generator installation?

Hey all, wonder if you can help? Had 2 phase go down on a distribution cable at one of the schools I regularly work at yesterday and the result was needing to get a 115kva generator in situ temporarily. The cable had been jointed somewhere and it appears that that has failed. (0.0Mohms across...

    New downlights - flickering

You may find that the longevity of your dimmer will be compromised, especially if you used gu10's as you are supposed to consider the derating, unless the dimmers are iQ. But go and check the connections to that fitting

    hidden cable depth clarification

Is an RCD present? What is the use of this spur intended for?
  18. SparkyNinja

    hidden cable depth clarification

Spur from the existing spur? Or spur from the ring? The cable will have to be >50mm in the wall unless the circuit is protected by an RCD, or if you were to use a cable with an earthed sheathing of some kind. The fact that the socket is twin or single is irrelevant

Can't find 'approved contractor' on LABC, what to do?

Fire away, if you want me to re-up bigger copies let me know  Response from the NICEIC this morning is that they want all of the information I have on the company. The big concern is that the company is a housing association service and so they probably pull this off every...
