    Hi, Can you tell me roughly how much I should be paying for a periodic inspection on my detached house (northwest), and how long will it take approx? Also what kind of things will they do?, i.e will they look at every light fitting in the house?, every socket e.t.c? Thanks,Chris.

    No not a fool, I think he wants to just leave this one without an earth. Ive told him to wait and I will go around to see if we can pull the earth down from the loop/rose. He is basically trying to avoid having to make a small job into a larger one :roll: .

    Thanks for your reply. Im am also trying to explain that the fitting may get hot and melt or set fire to local structure. Would this be a valid point ?.

    Im no expert but I would have thought thta water and light switches don't mix! Also never seen a light switch in a bathroom yet, only pullcords or switches on the outside.
