Thank you for all the great (and fast!) advice. I'm off to change my garters (y)

    What are CV Boot/gattors?

Fair point. Sounds like I'm best playing it safe. By the way, the garage quote mentions a separate charge for something called "Geometry check inc. front toe adjustment", is that some sort of check they do after the fitting the new parts?

    What are CV Boot/gattors?

Ouch! The garage thought it won't make it to the next MOT (next June) but that I should get it done before Christmas, which sounds like its not that urgent.

    What are CV Boot/gattors?

My Hyundai Santa Fe passed MOT but got an advisory "both front outer CV gattors perrished" they've not split just perrished. What are they and how serious is it? The garage quoted about 30 quid for a pair of new ones, but the labour comes to about 100 quid (2 hours). Seems a bit much, as I...

    When to replace cam belt?

I'm not worried, just wondered if Hyundai went by time or mileage?

    When to replace cam belt?

My cam belt is approaching 5 years since it was replaced, although I've only done about 25K miles in that time. Hyundai suggest 5 years or 50K miles whichever comes first. Should I get it changed or am I OK for a few more years yet?

    How big usb?

Yes I think in time I'll probably end up having to do that. But its a new PC so for the time being (for the next year at least) I'm just thinking of getting it back to "factory state". A thought though, can you have multiple images stored on the same device? I saw a video in Youtube where...

    How big usb?

Thanks I've already tried a 16GB usb and it failed. Google suggested anything from 4GB upwards. The Windows folder is around 18GB, in total about 24GB is being used on the HD. So I'm going to play it safe and try with a 32GB usb.

    How big usb?

I wanted to make a system image drive of my Windows 10 installation. I've made no changes other than what was installed by Windows. Does anyone know how big a usb drive I will need?

    How to Connect Netbook

I have a some netbooks, running Win7, which used to connect to a Win7 network server. The server has now been upgraded to run Win8. The netbooks only support Win7 and so can't now wirelessly (or otherwise) connect to the network. Is there any way of wirelessly connecting a Win7 netbook to a...

How to take off tap head

Thanks for that. I thought I might give it a clean first because there's a lot of limescale built up, is it OK to soak it in a lime scale remover solution or will that stain it?

How to replace bath tap cartridge?

I'm got a bath tap with a shower mixer (like this eBay bath shower mixer http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cherry-Chrome-Bathroom-Tap-Set-Bath-Filler-Shower-Mixer-Mono-Basin-Taps-/251525254582?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item3a9012cdb6 but with separate knobs for the hot and cold water)...

    OK to use bulb adaptor?

I'd love to replace them with a different light but my better half said they're staying, so that's that! I tried LEDs about two years ago but the problem I had was that the beam width was very narrow, about 40 deg. I think. As the kitchen is oblong, ended up with dark patches. Only went for...

    OK to use bulb adaptor?

I've got a kitchen light fitting that takes 4 GU10 bulbs. To save energy I've been using 11W CFL bulbs, but they cost a lot and don't seem to last very long, nothing like the 8000 hours they claim. I've like to fit a GU10 to E27 adaptor and then use a "normal" 11W low energy bulb, they're a...

    Which Roof Sealant?

Sorry no pictures. Its nothing special, just a oblong-ish patch that is covered with a wickes easy seal cap sheet felt. The roof is sound and not leaking but as its in direct sunlight it is degrading. So it seemed like a good idea to do something now to protect the roof covering.

    Which Roof Sealant?

Whats the difference between the Isoflex rubber and Cromapol acrylic stuff. Is acrylic better (longer lasting) than rubber or the other way round?

    Which Roof Sealant?

I've got a patch of flat roof that I'd like to seal. I was looking to use Thompson's 10 Year Roof Seal but a friend suggested trying Ronseal Isoflex Liquid Rubber because it was thicker and should last longer. Does anyone have experience of the Ronseal stuff? Its a lot more expensive then...

    iPad Syncing

My primary school would like to sync about 40 iPads so that they have the same set-up, software, apps, etc. They have a single Apple iTunes account registered to the school. They've tried using the Apple Configurator with a MacBook Pro and also wirelessly using another tool called Profile...
