My Dell Dimension 2400 is silent, theres no sound - no system sounds or any sound when I put in an audio CD. I've checked the Sounds and Audio Devices control panel and everything seems to be set right (Audio record/playback both set to SoundMAX), and nothing is on Mute. What's up Doc?

Thanks for the advice. I've getting a basic PC for the little ones mainly to run some CDs, it only comes with a DVD-ROM drive and when I looked in Google it came back with a lot of hits about people complaining that you can't read CDs in the drives. Strange.
