    Boiler Frost Stat causing problems

While we've got this cold weather this problem is winding me up. Can I ask who is the best person to get around to try to solve my issue, would it be a Gas Boiler Fitter/Engineer, or an Electrician. Thanks.

    Boiler Frost Stat causing problems

Hi, nothing at all has changed/been altered. Only thing done to the boiler was the service last September, I let him in garage and we chatted while he put the probe into the flue and printed me out the results. The frost stat is located 6 inches beneath the boiler itself on the garage wall...

    Boiler Frost Stat causing problems

Bingo, you've got it. Tried what you said and it fired up and worked without any noises. If it worked correctly over the last few years what could be the cause of it not doing so now? Are there any fuses, boards, wiring that is solely for use with the frost stat, or is it possible to do away...

    Boiler Frost Stat causing problems

Another night where the pipes were banging/gurgling. Anyone have any idea why this only happens on a freezing night when the frost stat kicks in? Why would it be any different to the boiler kicking in on the timer? Is there a different sequence of events when kicking in from frost stat as...

    Boiler Frost Stat causing problems

Ok thanks, but you've lost me with most of your reply. All I can say is that we have been at this house 3 winters and nothing like this has ever happened before, and as I said previously, nothing has been added/taken away from the system so again I'm assuming it was all working correctly...

    Boiler Frost Stat causing problems

Thanks, yes I read about the built in frost protection, I assume they put in an additional frost stat as there is pipework coming out of the top of the boiler then through the wall into the house, the garage is built on the side of the house. That section of pipework is insulated though and...

    Boiler Frost Stat causing problems

Thank you for reply. System is S Plan, I don't know what's controlling the pump or if it's running when it trips, as boiler is in garage, pumps valve tank etc are in airing cupboard upstairs. The boiler only runs for 10 secs or so before it cuts out. Boiler is Glowworm 18hxi. I've been in this...

    Boiler Frost Stat causing problems

Hi, I've got a Glowworm boiler (not combi) in garage with a frost stat beneath the boiler itself. Since before Christmas, the overheat stat has been tripping quite a few times with F5 on the display. I've thought I'd narrowed it down last week to a problem with the frost stat, which I replaced...

    Fibre glass roof

Not right now as I'm away from home, but I'm guessing 2 to 3 inches out from the wall, but you are correct because it has been running down the walls on all 3 sides unfortunately

    Fibre glass roof

Thanks for reply, I have tried that and other washed and its seems to have really ate into the rendering. Is there anything that could be painted on the glass fibre to stop it reacting and dripping down walls causing the algae as the other rendered walls of the house are fine. Thanks

    Fibre glass roof

Hi, I've got an extension with a flat roof covered with fibre glass about 2 years old. For the 2nd time in 6 months I've had to clean the roof of green algae, there is about a 3 inch fibre glass lip over the edge of the extension and this seems to be causing green algae runs down the exterior...

    Wireless programmer

I ended up with the Horstmann HRFS1 as it's the one the family is used to and half the price of the CM927. I wired it up following the instructions I found on this site adding Horstmann HRFS1 onto LP722 which I did originally search for but didn't come up for some reason..... take the blue...

    Wireless programmer

Thanks for reply. I'm up and running with the wireless thermostat now. Original honeywell room thermostat is in dining room and still needs to be calling for heat for the wireless thermostat to activate, the LP722 is in a kitchen cupboard with a mass of wires in a junction box next to it...

I've recently moved house, my previous house had a combi boiler with a wireless Horstmann HRFS1 thermostat which controlled the heating very well. My present house has a condensing system boiler with hot water cylinder and controlled by a Drayton LP722 programmer. Is there any wireless...

    Geberit flush pipe leak

Thanks for that, I've just googled what it is. Is it the same/similar to Plumbers Mate of which I'm sure I've got a tub somewhere around the house. If not I'll pop in the plumbers merchants to get a tube. Cheers

Hi, I've got a Geberit toilet system, the flush pipe that pushes into the bottom of the cystern is leaking, I've taken it out, cleaned up the edges as it was slightly rough, the clicked it back but it still slightly leaks. What is the best way of curing this leak please, it's not like you can...
