Why are you reluctant to get him back when he has clearly piped it up wrong somehow

If you had a new diverter valve last year it may be that you have a dirty system & after your wife put on htg something has blocked the htg port allowing hot water to pass down to htg circuit. Try feeling pipes on div valve & check if lever on side hasn't inadvertently locked into the venting...

You will also need to convert system to fully pumped & if you seal it you will need to route a safety blow off pipe to outside & probably change rad valves

Yes the ntc resister has a single purple lead.To test when htg is on remove lead & short it to something metal (trust me it won't cause any problem) if burner then goes out the ntc is faulty

You can still get 3/4" internal bsp 3 port valves all you do is remove adaptors or bushes from old valve when it is out & transfer to new one

If on a fully pumped cross vented "h" system suspect the horizontal piece is blocked with magnetite (try placing a strong magnet on copper pipe). If so you must reconfigure pipework asap or your system will rot & rads will pinhole

If you do release pressure from prv you will invariably have to clean seating or change it which is why a lot of makers are now putting the prv away & out of sight to remove temptation

From what you say i would guess that the valve with floppy lever has actually opened but failed to operate end switch & the one you force open to fire boiler for 10 secs has a failed motor

Boiler is thinking you have tap turned on either because the dhw microswitch is faulty or it is adjusted wrong

Check if there is a bleed cap on flow pipe to cylinder if so loosen it until water appears

I have a mira 415 combiforce with a vaillant ecomax 828/2 & works really well

Sounds like poor pump performance or poor circulation through boiler

If we knew make of boiler it might help ie a lot of vokeras have a flow restrictor which will just need taking out

Whoever fitted the replacement pcb should provide another one
