1993 1.4i Astra stalling at IDLE

Hi, my partners car is an old 100,000 mile 1.4i Astra. It's been parked up for a few months but I've managed to get it going (fixed oil leak, put in new spark plugs, charged battery). It runs fine except for two things. 1, the big problem is, it keeps stalling at idle, the idle speed feels...

    Have I been conned?

At least if you get your money back that's the main thing. You should send a letter in to the local paper and copy him on it, see if you can touch two nerves!!! After all think about all the problems he's caused you, he deserves a good slap, it's people like him that ruin the car buying...

Free Internet TV, a con or not

Well I finally got round to downloading and installing it (with a "universal" serial!!!!!) I havn't paid any money out so far (and don't intend to) but it's a bit cr&p. Interesting for a play around until the novelty wears off. The potential for when broadband gets faster is good though.

    No sound!!

DAE, Digital Audio Extraction. Uses the data streams in the IDE cable to playback sound. After looking into what this means, I found it only works on Win XP and Linux (using Alsa)

help me upgrade an old old computer

I just had a quick look on some sites, I think you'd definatley be better off bining the PC and starting again. If its for fun then and you don't mind spending the cash then take some time and look on google for pc upgrade guides, just make sure to check that your existing hardware is...

    No sound!!

Igorian, your correct, the CD player I installed in my PC supports sound forwarding (can't remember the exact technical term) which means that the audio out cable is not required.

    No sound!!

Isn't the audio cable for the motherboard to allow the CD player headphone socket to be used, it souldn't effect sound output transfer to the PC. It sounds like a software issue to me.

help me upgrade an old old computer

There are more considerations to take, you need to make sure that your Power Supply Unit is up to the job if you go for a faster CPU, I would recomend that you change your heatsink and cpu fan too. download SIS Sandra Lite (free) and run it, it will tell you detailed specs on your mobo / PC...

I need help with building a new PC

Make sure your bus speeds tie up, if your FSB can handle 1066Mhz but you only get DDR400 ram then the hole system will slow down to a bus speed of 200Mhz (IE, FSB of 800), if you get say a 1066MHz FSB P4 at 3.6Ghz the actual clock speed will lower to around 2.8Ghz. Is your MB Double DDR...

    Increasing fuel economy

MY MPG Result. Usually out of a tank of normal unleaded I get anywhere between 375 miles to 425 Miles. With the tank of fuel I have mostly been doing MWay driving and the traffic hasn't been to bad, from normal fuel I would of expected to get upto 400 miles before the warning light came on...

    Have I been conned?

I got stung on APR by Dixon's when I bought my car on finance. I reported them to trading standards who were suprisingly helpful. Cancelled the agreement. I was told that this is typical ploy by salespeople, luckily I had a proposal prior to agree which stated there deal but didn't state APR...

    Increasing fuel economy

Hi All, Thanks for your Replys, basically what i expected but don't want to change my car but would like to save some coin. Apparently the magnet is supposed to work by stoping impurities getting into the engine from the fuel (my thought on this was, if it is true then that means that...
