    Hanging Blinds on plasterboard recess

In the loft bedroom I want to hand some blinds. The blinds were supplied with 2 end brackets and 2 more support brackets each take two screws. However the walls are plasterboard and hollow all the way around. Can I use these to install the blinds? Are these recommended?

Mouting TV bracket to plasterboard wall

Welcome :D - indeed and I agree. Thanks for the help! I'll be sure to post the finished pictures and list lessons learned too. They told me belts and braces. And I know they said single piece of ply but I dont see that as enough to hold a 27kg tv and 10kg bracket. Ply over plasterboard is...

Mouting TV bracket to plasterboard wall

Just couldnt resist huh? My comment was not because people told me the "truth" it is the way in which they went about it. Big-all was the only one who responded with decency. The rest were negative and defensive, others even more as I didnt go with their idea. And having taken on advice...

Mouting TV bracket to plasterboard wall

Really, here I've encountered some of the most negative probably worst people of the many forums I've been part of. I was hesitant even posting the updates.

Mouting TV bracket to plasterboard wall

I imagine that was over top of the plasterboard giving it alot of strength. I plan to put it in place of the plasterboard so it is flush with the wall. Even I imagine you think its enough. And I see Lucid is in agreement  I may then just put a could of 95mm across the studs instead of...

    Recommended screws for studs

The bracket came with 8mm (possibly 6mm) 50/60mm long bolts and washers for stud installation. The holes are more than 6mm for sure. Just for reference:

Great thanks! And what about 8mm coach screws/bolts same principle? 1mm less or can it be two (have a 6mm drill bit).

Mouting TV bracket to plasterboard wall

And would you use intesects to attach the bracket and use small bolts to attach the ply to the studs?

    Recommended screws for studs

[/url] The drawing was just an illustration of proposed "plans". It was just smashed together in PS to demonstrate visually for people to better understand my idea. The screw positions will not be as the drawing since I'm going for longer wood vertical studs (face/face) which will spread the...

    Recommended screws for studs

I have a drill and a hammer, I know which I prefer to use :) So 100mm through 90mm of wood? I suppose if screwed at an angle it should be fine.

    Recommended screws for studs

Thanks, is that 10mm diameter? And I thought for joining two pieces of wood you only want partially threaded screws so it pulls into the second piece of wood...

    Recommended screws for studs

I will have some 2x4 that will attach on to another set of 2x4 timber (95mmx45mm specifically). My question is what size screw and type screw to use. Wood screw partially threaded 5mm by 90mm? Maybe these...

    Which bolt to 2x4 timber?

The penny washer either side of the ply? Also i'm going to use 8mm bolts/coach screws at 100mm (2 at 70mm as there will be a notch of 20mm at the back of one noggin to allow for cables to come up from back). So 8mm bolts 100mm long, what size pilot hole 8mmx100mm same as bolt?

    Which bolt to 2x4 timber?

Actually that is what I'm doing, noggin top and bottom where the bracket mount holes are and ply on top. However the bracket is extending out the wall about 24 inches and not static weight. I've been told thats a whole load of weight that requires solid connections, hence the noggins ply and...

    Which bolt to 2x4 timber?

Sorry didnt provide any context. To clarify TV is 27kg will be mounted using a 10kg cantilever bracket. This is why the need for bolts. I am thinking M8 100mm coach screw. How big does a pilot hole need to be to insert this?
