    armoured cable

The supply voltage drops for every meter of cable you have. So the supply end may be 240v the other end maybe 200v to over come this you normally install a thicker cable. I believe the tolerance of this is 3% for lighting circuits and 5% non lighting circuits. With that in mind the...

    Bell Transformer

Thanks BAS but if you created a short in the 12v side would it trip and RCD on the 230v side I'm not convinced it would. Surly as the two side are not physically connected in the transformer all that would happen is that more current would flow on the 12v side until the protecting device...

    Help with Wall

The house was built around 1955. As it was a cupboard i dont think it would affect fire regs as the door is half height too Was hoping to use blocks as opposed to stud due to wanting to hang a bit more weight. Am i guessing it is near impossible to get anything smaller than 100mm was...

    Help with Wall

    Cooker Diversity

As i put in my edit i ment to put oven though i didn't think i mattered as i though Cooker was a general term. According to the book their should be a 20 amp double pole switch installed for oven and 45amp for oven +hob BTW i have non That would suggest 20amp fuse would have been ok but i...

    Cooker Diversity

I have a cooker install currently protected buy a 30amp rewire-able fuse, The max rating of the cooker is 5.5kw To me this does not seem quite right! Yes i know 5500/230 = 23.9 amps but if you apply cooker diversity 10 + 30% of remainder (4.1) = 14amp +- 5 for extra plug socket But...
