phatboy, JohnD, terryplumb,
Thanks for your advice. terryplumb, I've tried various things to lift the plug, magnet (it's non-magnetic),
pulling up quickly on a sink plunger, sticking gaffer tape to it and pulling that - all to no avail. Might try a hoover tube?
- Terry.
terryplumb, yes sorry I didn't give much detail. The plug is down (had to empty the thing by bailing it out!)
Moving the rod between the taps (or moving the short rod which that connects to) does not lift the plug. So I was thinking of taking the plug-lifting fitting out and either mending it or...
Hi all the waste plug in bidet is bust it’s one where you lift a rod between the taps. The waste pipe has screw fitting to the trap under the plug but I can’t get my hand in or any tool. After that there are several sections on the way out - any chance they pull apart pls?
Aaargh!! Just looked, it would cost £710 to re-board the verandah area with those boards with the narrow abrasive strips in them! That versus £30 or £40 quid for non-slip paint .... so looks like another annual or two-year job of painting could be back on the cards!
- Terry.
Yeah I have this problem with wooden surfaces. I've tried various fixes.
Some say what you're slipping on is algae which has grown on the decking so it is improved by just cleaning it. Hmm, not sure about that.
Abrasive strips are great, seem to continue to be effective over time, and the...
Hi chaps, out here in the sticks like many houses I've got an off-mains sewage thingy, a digester, an old one. Can just see the top of it, it looks like a World War 1 concrete machine gun post but sunk in the ground and full of you-know-what. Even with new builds around here they seem to put up...
big all, yeah, could be it's always done that and I've never noticed, e.g. a lot of the time I've used it outside so in sunlight out-of-doors it might not be (so) visible.
- Terry.
Ah that's the slider on top with "1" and "2" on it right? Not sure I've ever used that!
Anyway, with it set to "1" if I rev it up then release slowly looks like nothing happens - no spark.
Hi chaps, I just got a new battery for this drill / driver, as per
https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/cordless-drill-driver-battery.516212/
Now the drill is sparking like mad, not while running but when you let go the trigger and it stops then there's a clatter and big sparks.
Is it worth...
HI, I bought the above mentioned battery :
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B077PLTTC7/ref=pe_3187911_185740111_TE_item
Charged up ok and spins the drill so the battery looks fine.
The actual drill spins but when you release the trigger and it stops, it's like Guy Fawkes night - shower of sparks...
pauldelahaye, yes a relative was in the same position with a drill / driver & 2 dead batteries, bought a new drill / driver and also said the new Li batteries are much better.
JBR, thanks for that link. I might try one (probably get away with just one in my case.)
Thanks guys. kingandy2nd, yeah I've noticed that once a manufacturer stops supplying parts for older products, the replacements often come from Arthur Daley Precision Engineering or some such. :-)
Regards, Terry.
Hi there, my DeWalt DC725(?) cordless drill driver now has 2 dead batteries. One packed up, followed a bit later by the other.
What to do? Replacements are advertised around £20 plus postage. You can (or could) also buy the little internal cells and solder them together yourself, or I think the...
foxhole, thanks, yeah wondered about that. I actually have some membrane.
Tigercubrider, thanks. I had a Tiger Cub in the late 60's! Yeah I could bag it up, I've got three bags, counting the one with the new gravel in it, so that's an idea.
Terry.
