kind of rules out the sensors on most but got to be the sensor as potterton suggested on the one I was at that the fault was like a split hose on an APS....

are yuo suggesting although they appear correct and have continuity on a multimeter test when they heat up it causes the prob ?? keep it coming..

excuse my grammer mate !! how prone are the airflow sensors to going ?? is this the type of fault you would say may be the sensors ??? unfortunately these are everywhere on our contract...

Housing Assosiation contract mate..if it wasnt I would do this, really cant find any reason or explination fo why they keep going faulty and it aint cheap to throw parts at them.. contract has the worst boilers around, loads of these, Puma's, lynx 2's and gloworm swiftflows...

thats my thinking too but being a new trv and it only occasionally happening puzzles me. Wasnt sure if balancing the lockshiled or slowing down the return would help so may try this first before reporting it...

think its just a dodgy TRV even though MYSON aint the cheapes as my mate has the same problem with 1 of his rads.. Oh and the whistling aint always happening... may try balancing the lockshiled first to slow down flow when it happens again !!

sound like the (NTC) Thermister for the DHW but with these boilers being so **** it would be best to do a full fault find but seeing its ok in C/H mode then I'd go with the NTC as it aint that expensive.. a multimeter and a compentent enginner should be a ble to confirm if this is the fault or...

changed about 20 of these in 6 months on the puma 80e models... worst boiler ive came across yet for maintenance

not sure but would depend if its a honeywell or SIT version as the boards are very different... 90 percent of these ive been to is the flow switches but recently changed a pcb on one which continually required reset for no reason... personally Id go with gaz on this one also first.....

this is like every 15 minutes !! Had a quick look at the M.I'S and the central heating sensor seems to have built in frost protection so pretty sure thsi will be the problem...

Will do mate... hate doing these things... first few I was able to remove the capsule from the front but last few just rounded my allen keys and had to take the full valve out. All you get is leaks everywhere and a very tricky job !

dont know much about these boilers but this one the pump etc runs every once in a while without any demand.. The boiler doesnt fire so my thoughts are possibly a frost stat ? do these have built in frost stats ?? all other controls are ok on an s plan system
