Conflicting Opinions - a Low Loss Header or not?

Agile is a boiler breakdown engineer, not an installer, so I do not think he is qualified to give an accurate opinion on installation matters

Conflicting Opinions - a Low Loss Header or not?

You don't Tony, but far easier and cheaper to clean or replace a heat exchanger rather than the boiler, a plate heat exchanger ensures that the boiler side remains clean.

Conflicting Opinions - a Low Loss Header or not?

I would think it was more to do with pressure loss through the system, with system boilers quite a lot of the pump output is lost within the boiler heat exchanger, which only leaves a smaller amount for the system, with an old unknown system, it would be difficult to determine the index circuit...

Gas safe ? Watch out for the tax man

All that it will tell the taxman is you installed a boiler, it will not tell them how much you earnt, so I fail to see how this will give them any indication of your income and so what tax liabilities you have, you could of been charging £50.00 to install the boiler, how will they know

    Biasi 24s - not igniting

Yes, but he has changed a part that has not fixed the problem, so the OP needs to ask the engineer, as I would assume the OP does not want to pay for the valve, or the labour for an incorrect diagnoses.

    Biasi 24s - not igniting

Why are you not asking the engineer who changed the gas valve

Newly installed combi boiler causing pipe leaks

I am a member, I will ask the question.

Newly installed combi boiler causing pipe leaks

As you say it is the OPINION of the CIPHE and Consumer Direct, why would their opinion matter over heatingman, their opinion will not be relevent in court, as their opinion is no more valid than mine, heatingman or any other contributor on here, as they were not involved with the installation

    British Gas Magnetic Filter?

Just a scam, the inhibitor prevents the sludge build up, not the Magnabooster, the Magnabooster is a filter to protect the boiler by stopping sludge and debris entering it

What form of heating should I install

I am not sure that we are qualified to tell anyone what is the cheapest system to run, no one is sure of the running costs of all systems, especially with ASHP's, GSHP's and Wood Pellet boilers in the mix, I have been to systems where customers have had ASHP's installed for hot water and heating...

What form of heating should I install

It is not down to contributors to these posts to work out the running costs of different fuels, this will be down to the person having the system installed, I merely pointed out other systems that can be considered, when comparing fuels for consideration.

Newly installed combi boiler causing pipe leaks

So you say that one company did carry out the test and highlighted the risk, well the risk could only be that the test showed a drop, which meant that you had a leak, there is no way to test to see if the pipes may leak under greater pressure, they either leak, or they don't, the test pressure...

What form of heating should I install

Do not dismiss Electric, if you have the right system and are on the right tariff it can have resonable running costs, try looking at Thermaflow http://www.thermaflowheating.co.uk/ they use an electrically heated thermal store for heating and hot water, it can also be linked to solar, but it is...

    Uponor underfloor heating installation

You probably have the Uponor Push 12, have a look at the link on page 27 & 28, this should be accesable so you should be able to see it. http://www.uponor.co.uk/~/media/Files/Uponor/UK/Technical%20Brochure/UFH%20Installation%20Guide%20-%20All%20Systems%20-%20June%2009.ashx

    British Gas Magnetic Filter?

Lets get one thing very clear here, the Magnabooster is NOT a BG product, they have the habit of trying to rebrand everything as their own, well they do not manufacture anything, they will be either using the Sentinel System Filter, or the Spirotech Magnabooster, but to answer your question...
