    Cable for 32a / 6.3KW double oven

I'll only be clipping it to the floor joists as I have bits of my ceiling plasterboard cut away and the floorboards up on the floor above.

    Cable for 32a / 6.3KW double oven

Hi all, I am planning to lay some cable ahead of my kitchen being installed and wanted to get some guidance on the size of the conductor required for a 32A / 6.3KW double oven that will be on a standalone circuit. I won't be doing any of the installation but would like to get the cable in place...

Adding two spur sockets to Ring Final

Sorry confused by the mention of one socket. I am planning to put a double socket in the following order: 1) 2.5mm2 cable from original socket to 20A DP Switch 2) 2.5mm2 cable from 20A DP Switch to waterproof outdoor double socket

Adding two spur sockets to Ring Final

Regarding the outdoor spur socket, would a 20A DP switch be adequate for isolating the new spur?

How to prep and paint mock Tudor beams?

Hi all, I'm planning to paint the front of my house and struggling to know what to do about my mock Tudor beams. I honestly can't tell if they are real wood! In some places I have cracks that appear like wood and in other places it feels like a plastic. Also the artex type render in some places...

    Maintenance free junction box?

Hi all, I'm extending a lighting circuit to include a new set of downlights and wanted to check if this qualifies as a maintenance free junction box...

    Gravel board too high

No worries at all, it is a composite fence. Expensive but worth it in my opinion. We went with Saige composites.

    That's what I understood too.

Adding two spur sockets to Ring Final

I think I'm going to stick to your recommendation of having an FCU leading to two separate sockets. It's highly unlikely I'll have high powered appliances plugged in and operating at the same time. The washing machine goes on 3 times a week. At most I'll have a toaster & coffee machine plugged...

    Gravel board too high

Curious to know what you meant by adding a bit of concrete?

    Gravel board too high

I think it's the same or easier to cut the lip/notch from the concrete post itself? I was thinking I could raise the gravel board onto a trolley jack and use the clearance to cut the lip out from the post. This way I dont have to lift the gravel board out of the post nor do I have to make a...

Sealant peeling away from window sill

Thank you. Let's assume it's not covered in the warranty, how can I go about repairing this? Should I just scrape the sealant off and redo it?

Adding two spur sockets to Ring Final

Thanks. Am I ok to take a spur from an indoor socket to add a new socket in the garden? No need for an FCU as its a single spur?

Adding two spur sockets to Ring Final

Thanks - I'll go with having an FCU first. On a different note, I am also looking to take a spur from a separate socket for a outdoor waterproof socket. My circuit is on an RCD, but I'm wondering if it would make sense to get a garden socket with a built in RCD? Or would be ill-advised to have...

Unvented cylinder overflow pipe into soil stack?

Sorry you're absolutely right, it's a PRV! Is there anything in the regs that state it cannot go into a soil stack?
  19. S

    Gravel board too high

Yeah, we dont want to raise the ground level when we pave, so we want the ground to be roughly where it is now after paving.

Unvented cylinder overflow pipe into soil stack?

I think there may already be a tundish but it's in the loft, so unlikely that we'll know if it's running?
