We do not know until we open the side of the old extension roof so we can match the old with new but it will be at least 6" if not 8" .

Nothing lowly about you dave , you are decent engineer and seem very honest , not the one's we come across in our neck of the woods ! This combi versus traditonal is emotive issue ..so don't get upset .
