got to add some 6ft fence panels in the back garden,bit confused as to how to fix gravel boards...do they just sit freely below ground beneath the panels or should they be fixed at either end to the posts? from what I've gleaned from posts(no pun intended) on here, for 6ft panels I need 8ft...

Thanks deluks,that's a real useful link....next question(s) ceiling tie? wall plate? truss clips? I'm guessing the tie and clips are some way of joining the whole structure together?metal bracket type things? and the wall plate.... is that just the face of the wall/brickwork?

Thanks chaps, garage is about 10ft wide 18ft long,built of just a basic single brick skin,was going to cover with 18mm osb or similar then either felt or use those corrugated roofing panels from wickes and the like to keep the weight to a minimum? Masona.....what's "birdmouth"?

planning to convert my garage roof to a pitched type(from flat) can I make up my own roof trusses or should I (as my GF suggests :roll: ) buy them ready made?can trusses be bought in a variety of widths or are there standard sizes? my carpentry skills are limited and not meaning to detract from...

I was considering using those panels from wickes but was concerned about the ability of the fixing they provide preventing water penetration, should they be coated with some type of mastic to ensure nothing gets through or are they fine on their own?

thanks noseall,insulation....am trying to keep it warmish and hopefully minimise condensation,gonna install some slimline panel heaters and vent it properly(?) etc plus it's a bit more than a garage I spend a lot of time out there in the winter and the ole bloods a bit thin these days :roll:
