Thanks Eric. As I said the next step is to get a spark in. The workshop (and hence compressor and MIG) will only be in use occasionally but it still has to be right. Will see what the spark says when he comes. I am hoping I can get him here in the next couple of working days. D

I meant that each building outside would have their own supply cable and CU (although I dont know how that would be achieved since it all has to be after the meter? The large CU would then do the whole house and outside. I dont know enough to design any of this of course, just throwing ideas...

How big can you go with a CU? Could I, for example, have 48 ways or is that just daft? Do you then have to add up the ratings of all of the individual fuses and ay uner 100A or is it the loadings that is important? Trying to work out what I should ask the spark to do as opposed to just get the...
