I'm excavating this area for block paving where an outdoor toilet once was. Just stumbled upon this pipe next to the soil pipe. Is this (or was) a water or gas pipe?

Title says it all really. Bit nervous about messing with this as all the bayonet fittings I've seen don't look like this. Any advice would be appreciated!
