    57kw needed

You're right none of the radiator pipework has been prssure tested. I have no idea why, as if it was me i'd definitely be testing it prior to an expensive floor being laid. Anyway I have disclaimed against any pipework leaks on the existing work. It's not a great way to go about doing a...

    57kw needed

Thanks for all the replies. Yes Agile the radiator output is too low, and i've advised the customer of this. However there has been £20000 spent on oak flooring which is now all fitted. So it's a case of tough luck if this turns out to be the case. I'm going to fit 2 30kw viessmann system...

    57kw needed

Not sure what the exterior dimensions are. All the radiators have been hung, due to a very expensive oak floor being fitted. I feel they are undersized, but there is nothing that can be done now. This is why I haven't been able to do a proper heat loss calc. I've just totalled all the rads to...

    57kw needed

It's on LPG with two buried bulk cylinders. It is a very big house, 8 bedrooms, 30 radiators. It's an old restored hall. Thanks for the ideas.

    2 system boilers

Just wanting some ideas from any heating installers. I've been to quote for a very big house. The heating load is 57kw. I was thinking the best way to achieve this would be to install 2 30kw system boilers side by side, with an unvented cylinder. The heating system is in 2 zones, so...

    57kw needed

Just been to take a look at a job which requires 57kw. It's a big house, and all the radiators have been hung (not necessarily correctly sized), but no boiler fitted yet. I'm proposing to fit a system boiler with an unvented cylinder. The radiators and cylinder will total 57kw. Just wanting a...

    Gas pipe 15 mm, do i need a 22mm for boiler ?

If the new gas pipe needs to be run behind kitchen cupboards, why not remove the plinth, and run the gas pipe at low level, or even on the outside of the house. 3m of pipe won't take long.

    Back boilers

Why would you want a boiler in your living room? Personally I don't want to listen to a boiler firing up while i'm watching TV.

£400 boiler scrappage + How to get it

Nobody is going to say you haven't got a G rated boiler. However, there are spot checks being made pre and post installation. So I guess you can take a risk if you want to.

BAXI SOLO 2 40PF PROBLEM - HELP PLEASE!

Scrap it, that boiler is band G.

    New Viessmann boiler

You need to get the installer to measure the flow rate you have, and size the boiler accordingly. Either model will be more than enough for your heating requirements. Combis are sized for hot water demand. The vitodens is a very good product. The 100 is a new product, and any of the earlier...

Boiler scrappage, is it worth it?

A baxi solo 2 isn't band G, and therefore won't qualify for the scrappage scheme.

    PCB fault on baxi 105e

Yes I was thinking it was a bit of water into the PCB......another trip to parts centre then!

    PCB fault on baxi 105e

It fires on hot water demand though.

    PCB fault on baxi 105e

Hi, Fitted a diverter valve on a 105e today. After fitting I got a 'pump fault low pressure' flashing neon. The pump runs, and there is enough pressure, so i'm thinking it may be a PCB fault. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks.

    Leaking bath tap

The tap may well be faulty, and you will have to remove the bath if it needs a new one. I can't see how the bath would break if it is removed carefully. I'm guessing your plumber doesn't fancy taking the bath out, which is understandable.

FAO GAS BOYS: How do i get gas qualified?

A good idea would be to contact some local heating engineers, and ask them if you can work for them 1 or 2 days a week for free for a year or so. You will then be able to get some good gas and plumbing experience. There's no quick way, just takes some time and effort, and of course money to...

    Joints

Why not just pay a local plumber to check it out, or re-do the joint if you're that worried. Shouldn't cost more than about £40.
