    Drive way help

It is going to depend on what you are going to do with the space. If you are going to just use it as a walkway, dig out the weeds, treat heavily with killer, then membrane with at least 2 inches of gravel on flat level surface. You will need retainers cemented in as Lonner says. If you are...

    Echo dot

You just need an automated filler. What about just getting an old Swan Teasmade.

    Incorrect info from Tado?

Flameport, would you have a preference between Nest and Hive? Identical install for the switches and thermostats?

How to do this block paving?

Exactly what Ella’s says. This is how they do roads in Holland.

    Turf keeps dying

It looks very dry. Was it watered or over fertilised? Did you try aerating and removing plugs and filling holes with compost and topdressing! I had same problem with my new build (Redrow). They essentially laid a few inches of topsoil on clay. Looked great for a few months until the rain just...

    Echo dot

I have mine linked to my Sonos Amp and some smart light bulbs. So I can tell it where to turn the light on as well as where to play music. I also have one upstairs so you can use 2 as an intercom between rooms. I also have the buttons too.

Maybe an additional trap? Remove any air which allows sound to carry.

Thanks flameport. I didn’t get a comfortable feeling dealing with Tado over chat.

    OpenTherm 2+ zones

I have a clarification question on OT and the use of Smart thermostats for more than one heating zone. To my knowledge, OT is a control algorithm that utilises Proportional, Integral and Derivative control actions to try and smooth out boiler action in order to track the desired temperature...

    Incorrect info from Tado?

I want a system where I don’t waste heating when I am away, but I want to have hot water when I return, and also a warm house. We travel a lot so water cools after a few days. When I had a combi this was no issue. The only decision I want to make is which system, Next, Tado or even Hive (Ecobee...

    Decking or Patio

On my last house I created a large patio with decking. It was approximately 5*8 meters. It looked great. The problem was winter. It was a death trap and unfortunately I needed to walk on it to get to different parts of the house. Long term, I would go for slabs/brick.

    Turf Straight Onto Weed Membrane?

Don’t do it. Grass roots need to establish themselves quite deep and can grow at least 4 inches or more. The membrane will stop them burrowing, which they will need in summer to get nutrients and moisture.

    Incorrect info from Tado?

I think I have got this - after reading a few posts from Stem. I will need 2 Nest heat links or 2 Tado extensions. Designate 1 thermostat for ch and water and the other for ch. use the existing cabling to the thermostats but swap to 24vterminals to power the thermostats. As long as I am still...

    Incorrect info from Tado?

This was later clarification from Tado. So it seems a simple Tado smart thermostat is not possible. Surprised given it is a new house. Can anyone recommend a Smart option please? .............I didn't say "to control my hot water purchase an extension to replace my programmer and also purchase...

    Incorrect info from Tado?

Hello, New to this forum. I was searching for info on smart thermostats and chatted to Tado for information but I think they gave me misleading info. I have a new house with Ideal Logic H12 with ESI 3247B programmer. I have upstairs and downstairs zones with ESI ESRTD3 thermostats. I wish to...
