    OK when I go back to the job tommorrow, ill measure the diameter of the hole in the cistern and see what PTS have got any syphons that are larger. The syphon lokked as though it had never been changed, then diaphragm was gone and the merchants didnt have any replacements.

    you got it in terms of the siphon. Got to admit I didnt check the diameter of the old syphon, but the new syphon is not "too small" for the hole. If I was to put silicon on the washer, is it best to go on both sides? Also would this stop the leak between the cistern and pan? or is it a case...

    Its the normal close coupled mounting bracket with threads external to the cistern. The surface at the bottom of the cistern is slightly raised, so that is why I changed the washer under the syphon and put plumbers mait under it to try to get a good seal, but to no avail. The syphon is the...

    If you could get underneath the tray to where the gap is try expanding foam, let it cure cut down on the upper of the tray if necessary then seal using silicon. Done this before and it held fine. Good luck
