Can you check the Event Viewer for clues, Right Click on My Computer ans select Manage. Look for clues on events with errors (especially in System and Application)
Doing a google with the errors with give you more information or post back.
Is the system performing Ok once it has booted up?
I would recommend 2gb of RAM and at least 256mb graphics memory.
If it is running OK at the moment then it is not crucial, just something to think about for the future, really depends what you are doing on your PC.
If you look in My Computer, you will probably see a Drive named Removable Disk or similar. Maybe Drive letter E: or F:

If the Keyboard is working on other accounts then I would suggest there is nothing physically wrong with your keyboard.
If you can login as an administrator, then backup the files that are located under the profile (account) that you are having trouble with.

Are the files you are trying to read .tiff files, if so then this application should open them.

You can manage the user accounts in Start>Control Panel>Users.
You can then delete an account that you no longer use (NOTE: you will lose data e.g. my documents for that account)
I think that's what you're after :wink:
